Not unheard of with any pushrod engine, especially if it sits for extended periods OR if it is just started and moved a few feet then shutoff again.

Does it go away after a few seconds?

My Pentastar sounds like a sewing machine. When I rev it it sounds like a slightly louder sewing machine. Which is fine by me.

How many miles on the oil change?

Mine will do that using the OEM filter after about 1000 miles, using a better filter and I never have the tick even at the 5000 mile oil change.

I'll say this, when I first got my 2022, it did the same thing, lifter rattle on just about every start. BRAND NEW... The oil cap calls for 0w-20.... after the first 2-3 oil changes I switched to useing 5w-30 (my manual still says it *can be used)... After I did that, it no longer "ticks"...

*Not trying to start an oil fight...
**Also no covering your warranty in the event my information blows up your engine... :Big Laugh:

Mine had the same thing. Changed the oil to 5-30 straight away and followed motor oil geeks break in o8l changes, 500-1500-3000-5000kms, then every 5k. Having first 10k service done next week. Im no expert but i did the oil changes to remove any small metal debri and preventing those small needle rollers on the lifters from rotating whilst the engine was running in. Do what works for you but in my case no hemi tick anymore.

Here is a good one for you I have a 2016 ram 1500 5.7l when it’s in MDs mode it sounds like water sloshing around if I change the gears to any gear the noise stops so if I’m assuming right the MDs sensors are going bad and if so is it complicated to change them what I’ve seen on YouTube it doesn’t seem so but I’d rather here it first hand.
