You do not need to clock a hid bulb, the capsule isn't adjustable, so your bright spot never changes. Unlike an led bulb where you need to change the direction of where the chip is pointing.

So the bar doesnt affect the beam pattern at all? I will just spin them till they stop and see how they work then. Ordered the brightsource dust covers cause the damn ultra ballasts are to big to fit in the housing.

Have had 4 sets of morimoto HIDs, not one single ballast issue in 12 years. All 8 still going strong. One of the best ballasts out there. Far superior to DDM crap.

Morimoto are well documented for their ballasts going out. It has been proven time and time again.
Haven’t heard of one person having issues with DDM.

^^FALSE^^

The return wire should always face down (6 o’clock) on an HID bulb.

Google it or search here for more info

The reason is, the projector bowl over time will cook from the heat from a 55w bulb, it will gradually turn the Chrome dark and reduce the reflective ability.

Actually they said the heat would be fine in the projectors. They just made there 35w to deal with the canbus problem and had been proven to work on the rams. The 55w however isn’t and some might get away with it and some might have problems. That’s why they recommend people to steer away from it if they want a true plug and play option.

So if i have 35w setup can i just get 55w ballast if i wanna bump up light output?

Got my ddm ultras installed, used the brightsource dust covers just so i didnt have to drill the stocks if i ever go with leds instead.
Gotta get use to the white light i guess, not sure i can actually see better at night! Gotta test more and fogs would prolly really help.

Couple pics, looks brighter then it really is as others have mentioned when posting light pics.

Yes. It'll "warm up" the color temp. So if you have a 6000k bulb it'll end up closer to a 5500k if you use a 55w ballast

Im running 5500k. Looking at the ddm site, the stand-alone ultra ballasts are big like the ones i have, the ultra canbus ballasts are smaller like the one jb1 has. If i go with a 55w ballast i want one that fits in the housing!

OP, if you haven’t found a set yet I still have these available. If interested make me a reasonable offer.

Just to clarify, i emailed ddm, got right back to me!
The ultra canbus is smaller and will fit in the housing like @JB1 stated.
They replied: Ultra ballast is larger than Ultra Canbus ballast. It's because Ultra ballast has the ignitor built inside of the ballast mail box.

What watt fogs would be used with a 35w 5500k hid setup? Ddm has 50w sabor and 35w exact fits.

Hello - the link your have only shows H1 and 9006. Which one did you order? The 9006 and just trim it down a bit to fit?

The 9006 fit fine

I would recommend getting Hylux 45w ballasts and Morimoto 6500k bulbs. I’ve had plenty of problems with Morimoto ballasts, but their bulbs have been fine. Hylux ballasts have been great for me (both 35w and 45w). The higher wattage ballasts will reduce the specified color temperature a bit. The 45w ballasts and 6500k bulbs in my TYC projectors were pure white, no blue. The 5500k bulbs with the same ballasts were quite a bit warmer in color, but with 35w ballasts were pure white.

I tried a 35w 5000k innovited kit, and the bulbs were trash. Almost green in output. The ballasts were fine (used them with some Morimoto bulbs with no issue).

Check this out on the Hylux ballasts
