Looking for a good quality HID conversion kit for my 2018 2500. Anyone have any experience with any and can recommend one ? I have the projector headlights. Looking for something to improve the fog lights also. Thanks !

You would run led’s in the fogs

I know the voices in my head aren’t real, but man, do they ever come up with some great ideas.

There are quite a few kits out there.

I've used RetroShop kits in the last three Ram trucks I've owned and never had a problem. They aren't the cheapest but they work.

I'm sure you will get some other recommendations soon.

Good luck with the mod.

I ran ddm tuning in my 15 without any problems, I've also run both 35w and 55w Innovited hid's in my 18 without any problems. With the aid of alfaobd I'm currently running morimoto xb55 hid's in my 18 with no extra harnesses error free

I would recommend getting Hylux 45w ballasts and Morimoto 6500k bulbs. I’ve had plenty of problems with Morimoto ballasts, but their bulbs have been fine. Hylux ballasts have been great for me (both 35w and 45w). The higher wattage ballasts will reduce the specified color temperature a bit. The 45w ballasts and 6500k bulbs in my TYC projectors were pure white, no blue. The 5500k bulbs with the same ballasts were quite a bit warmer in color, but with 35w ballasts were pure white.

I tried a 35w 5000k innovited kit, and the bulbs were trash. Almost green in output. The ballasts were fine (used them with some Morimoto bulbs with no issue).

How do you clock the ddm tuning ultra bulbs? I twist the bulb in and the bar sits at 2 o'clock. I dont see a way to spin the bulb itself in it's housing.

Have the above HYB kits, look like high quality components. Also have 6000k H11 HID bulbs from Xtremevision. Got both on Amazon and a set of predrilled dust covers from Brightsource in Canada.
Going to replace my low beam LEDs first 70+ day.

you loosen the 3 screws on that hold down plate that clocks the bulb with notches on the headlight, this allows the bulb to turn, then re tighten the screws

Jb1, i know you have these, where did ya mount the ballast? Im thinking of just getting the led hikaris cause i didnt really wanna drill a hole in the dust cover. I thought i could fit the ballast inside housing but not with these ultras!

When I asked innovated they told me Not to use the 55w with the rams, only the 35w. I wonder why....

Not sure why. I've never heard any company say not to run 55w only that 55w decreases bulb life by like 30%

DDM is your best and cheapest option. Plug and play unlike Morimoto that always has ballast issues and isn’t plug and play. $89 shipped on amazon

Have had 4 sets of morimoto HIDs, not one single ballast issue in 12 years. All 8 still going strong. One of the best ballasts out there. Far superior to DDM crap.

The reason is, the projector bowl over time will cook from the heat from a 55w bulb, it will gradually turn the Chrome dark and reduce the reflective ability.

You do not need to clock a hid bulb, the capsule isn't adjustable, so your bright spot never changes. Unlike an led bulb where you need to change the direction of where the chip is pointing.
