I was going to try to get out a laugh out of my Hawaiian buddy who now lives in Ohio and make a hillbilly tarp pool in my truck and invite him over. But as I started looing into it I see that people have messed their trucks up because of all the weight. My crew cab bed isn't as big as some (it's only 5'6" I think) so just wondered if anyone has tried it on here.

Set the frames on jack stands if you really want to do it

That's a good idea.. I saw some tailgate issues too but most of them were older trucks when the tailgates used to be a lot thinner. Our tailgates is pretty damn beefy. Water in a bed pushes out in every direction.

Water is approx. 62 lbs / cu ft.
I wouldn't do it due to both the weight and the outward force, but, it's your truck.

I agree I would pass I did the math a while back and it would be around 3500lbs plus the people sitting in it. That's a lot of stress IMO but if you do it we want pics!

I witnessed this once back in the day. Some friends took someone's 1970's-ish Chevy pickup, sealed the bed cracks, filled 'er up with water, floated a cooler full of beer, jumped in, and cruised Main one hot summer day. It was a lot of fun at the time, but that couldn't have done that truck any good...
I wouldn't do it but I think a lot of us here would like to see somebody else do it and post pics!

It would take along time to fill up, I would just buy an above ground pool. They are cheap these days.
