David, I just ran through your two build threads. As usual attention to detail is amazing and I am shocked you lifted it!! I was not expecting that!

Lol! Thanks man!

I guess technically it is lifted, though a meager 1.5" - 2"... :baby:
Actually, I did not even do it for the lift, I did it for the performance! The springs I have in there now have a much higher spring rate than my original ones, add the Fox IFP Performance shocks to that and this JK handles and corners very well for what it is!
The factory ride was way to squishy for me and now it is nice a firm, but not to the point of being harsh like a lowered vehicle... Plus, when I added the 150+lbs (the subwoofer and box alone are 120lbs :Sumo:) of audio to the trunk the rear was looking a little droopy and would buckle on acceleration...

Here are some pics:

1st pic - factory springs no audio
2nd pic - factory springs with audio
3rd pic - first set of new springs with audio
4th pic - second set of new springs with audio

Wtf?! Why didn't you?! :roflsquared:

I have some things in the works, but this will not be an over-the-top, look-at-me build. I want to keep this thing practical and not a theft magnet especially when the top is off. Well, I say that now, who knows what the future holds! ;)

Yeah, I totally forgot to get in touch with you until I was only plane and flying home. Parents had a busy week planned for us. lol

I will next time though. For sure.
We were close to you Thursday night. Got stuck in the 405 traffic coming from downtown LA.. OMG was that fun.!!!!!!

Cool! Heading south to OC on the 405, you passed within 10 minutes of my pad...
Oh, and I avoid the 405 at all costs. :suicide:

Started making some covers for the unsightly things in the engine bay... Steel, wrapped in vinyl cf.
Went a little funky with the battery cover! Lol

I have a full set of 6061-T6 billet aluminum caps coming... And a Mopar cai.

Yay, Jeep build thread!!

A number of guys have been asking for this, so I figured I'll put some updates in this thread... :favorites13:

Kinda funny: Over on the Jeep forums the guys are NOT into this engine bay bling AT ALL! Nor are they that in to doing major audio builds.
Many of them have this opinion that Jeeps should have mud splashed all over them at all time! **** THAT, I am not a pig! Lol

Lmao. I don't care if your fixing up a Daewoo, I'd still follow the build thread.

That's cause most Jeep guys are traditionalists that follow the trends and aren't true car guys that can appreciate a build no matter the style or type.... Or cause they don't know how to do anything that isn't bolt which is why they bought the jeep in the first place. Oh and most that talk trash on a street driven jeep don't even wheel anyway... they are posers.. don't pay any attention to them

That's the same people throwing their stuff in your bed that you have dings all over in it and sitting in your truck with dirt all over and mud on their shoes, that you have to clean 2 days. and if you say something, they say: what? it's just a truck... :flipthebird:

Very true. See lots of things that I wouldn't do to my vehicle but I can appreciate the creativity that went into it and can think it looks great even though it's not my style. People suck sometimes haha.

Someone said to me last month "it's just a truck" I told them when people say that I want to start throat punching. It's called pride in ownership. Take care of your stuff and it'll take care of you.

Also got told a week later by the same guy "you wont keep your truck so clean with two kids" I responded "that's what people said with kid #1, I'll enjoy proving you wrong too." :flipthebird::roflsquared:

I feel bad for people that can't see the beauty in all things from others perspective... even though I can be guilty of it sometimes.....

Oh and back on subject... The Jeep is looking good.... I wish you were closer to norcal where you could come help me with my truck... I'd even supply the shop full of tools and equipment... :roflsquared:

Thanks! I would love to have a fellow enthusiast closer too... The closest I have are two neighbors, one has a Tacoma and the other has a Tundra. I have done a fair amount of work to their Yoda's but they aren't exactly enthusiasts...
Btw, the more work I do on the Tundra the more I realize how it's build quality seems inferior to the Ram. Especially, the plastic parts, they are cheaply made and the paint is very thin. Most of the parts I have touched or removed off that Tundra surprise me how weak they seem...

I have been telling this to my buddy since before he bought one... he now years layer wishes he bought a chebby or Ram and since buying my R/T he has decided to buy a EcoDiesel... Even with the head aches I've had with the R/T

Its hard to find good enthusiast buddies that are local.... I have alot of car buddies but few that take things to the level I do and think i'm crazy for the money I spend on things and Fab work I do when I can just go buy something that works and bolt it on... they just don't understand, its about building it and having things no one else does and designing them to perform far above the manufactured stuff.

Exactly. The fun is in coming up with a concept, and then making it happen. Once it's done, the fun is over and it's on to the next one!
Some guys go to bars every weekend, spend loads of money in Vegas on crazy ****, and whatever else they do; I spend time and money on my vehicles and it is much more rewarding than were their discretionary income is spent, imho.
They come home with hangovers, drug addictions and stds, and I have a ******* vehicle and no worries! Lol

Exactly! Just for kicks, next time I work on my buddies Tundra I am going to bring one of those toy tool sets from Toys R Us!

But seriously guys, whatever negative ******** that MotorTrend or Consumer Reports tries to throw out there, the Ram (compared to the Tundra) is a much more robust truck.
Not to mention a joy to work on! :naughty:
I am not saying this just because I am a big Ram fan or a Toyota basher... The Tundra is/was my second favorite truck after the Ram.

All that being said, I think I am saving myself for the Jeep truck that should be coming out next year!

I missed this earlier, If they produce a factory 4 door truck version I may hold of on my jeep purchase too until then. Still keeping the R/T though.
