We have one and love it. Haven't had it long but no issues. Ours came with the updates installed that fixed issues that were happening. The sound sucks but quiet and smooth isn't all bad. But the power, man. SMOKES a hemi or any other gas 1/2 ton short of a TRX or Raptor R. Tows so much better, little to no shifting. Immediate lower RPM power. Better MPGs if babying. No regrets.

If I were open to making another upgrade, I would probably wouldn't go for a Hurricane, instead, I would go with a new loaded 2025-2026 Ramcharger (EV).
You know Ramcharger is going to come in around $100k, right? Stellantis wonders why they can't sell anything... their prices are insane. It's a truck, not a house.

Not everyone seeking a Limited (or Longhorn) is interested in a 12.3 sec quarter mile truck with 540 hp and 17 mpg.
I don't see the need for those absurd levels of power in a 1500 pickup. Hemi's 400lb/ft of torque is plenty to handle anything the 1500 can haul or tow. It's a truck, not a drag racer. This American obsession with increasing horsepower every generation is stupid.

My '19 Classic just turned 50k miles. It's got bumper-to-bumper coverage through Mopar out to 85k so I'm not in a hurry to do anything with it. The only thing that could make me trade in the near future would be the return of 0% interest financing, and in the unlikely event of that occurring I'd be looking for a 6.4 2500. I have little interest in a pickup with a highly stressed turbo engine and want nothing to do with that garbage e-torque. Neither provide any benefit, they just add layers of complexity and increased maintenance costs.

I have a 2025 RAM 1500. Formerly had a 2019 RAM with a Hemi engine. The Hemi was much louder and on the highway would get about 21 MPH driving 70. Driving 400 highway miles I used a tank and a half of gas. The Hurricane engine is so quiet you cannot hear it. Driving 400 highway miles I used only a tank of gas driving 70. The Hurricane starts up very quickly and passes cars quickly...so no complaint there. This is the 5th RAM I have owned and no problems with any of them....keep them 4 or 5 years. So my concern is the longevity of the engine, so I took the Mopar warranty for the 1st time ever. However my neighbor has a Grand Waggoner and it has the Hurricane engine and is doing fine...it is only 2 years old though. I live in Corpus Christi Texas which has a population of 400,000 and have only seen one 2025 RAM since I bought mine in late July. And on a recent trip to DFW saw NONE!!!!!
One more thing. It seems to me Dodge went out of their way to give very limited information about the technology items on the 2025 RAM. And I am a pretty decent techie. But everything I have figured out is great. I did receive a super financial deal to buy this one as I suppose they are trying to get some on the roads. They gave me a trade in only 4k less than I paid for my last RAM 5 years ago(which only had 22000 miles and was immaculate) and 2.9 interest.

Just came home with one less than two weeks ago. Replaced a 2017 Larmamie Hemi 5.7 that I loved. It was hard to let that go, but two weeks into it, I have to say I really love driving the new truck. I didn't really check the spec's but the from my classic, I've gained 4 inches on the truck to which I am adjusting. It's super quiet, the Hemi sound was not a big deal for me. I brought home from Mark Dodge in LA since in Ohio I could not get a Southwest Edition. Got a few options I really wanted without loosing my bench seat. But in regard to new engine, may be too soon to give a long term answer, but so far I am very very pleased with the truck and the engine after dragging my feet on the upgrade for well over 6 months. Milage is a bit better, brand new I got close to 20PMG on it's first 1200 mile trip.

Thats not good at all compared to a 3/4 ton truck. Add 1000-1500lbs, 1-3 inch bigger tires, and 3-6 inches of height and watch that hurricanes mpg drop like a rock in the 2500. Not trying to start an argument. I'm just saying.
That's a pretty bag argument since doing all of that to any vehicle is going to cause the fuel economy to nose dive.

Of course it will. My point was if the hurricane was in a 2500 which I roughly guessed at the numbers I mentioned for the difference between the two vehicles. I don't know the specs of a wagoneer nor did I feel like looking them up. The mpg would probably be worse then the 6.4.

I owned the new 2019 5.7, the 2021 etorque, and now the 2025 hurricane.
I've had no problems with none; never back for a warranty claim.
I do miss the hemi sound but I'm getting over it.
Super quiet hurricane is different but in a good way. Much improved mileage and the incredibly smooth upshift, braking, steering, really just all of it, is impressive!
I love the power and quick acceleration and really don't miss the hemi. This thing is fast!
The only negative that I see is the price.
Mine was $62k. As compared to the others, it's probably much overpriced.

Have close to 5,000 miles on my 2025 Limited and absolutely love the Hurricane motor. I6's are by far the smoothest motor and the torque, especially passing wise, comes on immediately. My commute takes me north of 70mph daily and I'm getting around 18mpgs. Couldn't be happier with the motor.

I came from a '22 Trailboss with a 2.7 Turbo High Output. The only thing I miss about that truck is the bench seats and turbo whistle.

Before I upgraded to a '23 5.7 with eTorque, I test drove a 2025 with the Hurricane engine. It's definitely has more power. It's a capable engine. The only thing that kept me from buying it was the sound. I literally made the decision on sound alone.

If I were open to making another upgrade, I would probably wouldn't go for a Hurricane, instead, I would go with a new loaded 2025-2026 Ramcharger (EV).
Actually, the sound has me interested.

One of the guys I see regularly at the local eatery has driven his son-in-laws new Hurricane Ram and he says it's quieter than any luxury car he's been in. I watched the TFL test drive video and they measured 50-ish dB of noise level at speed and commented that was the lowest they've ever measured in a truck.

Dusty

No way. My 6.4 ram is right at 6700lb. 1800lb in options is crazy.

Do appreciate the comparison though even with me questioning you.
No you're correct that is the GVWR for both vehicles , not curb weight

3.0 Hurricane SO
I test drove both before buying the Hurricane. Hurricane had better smiles per hour. The more i drive it, the more i like it.

My dad owns a 2008 rotted out Ram with 5.7 Hemi and is in the market for a newer truck. He was pleasantly surprised when he drove my Hurricane -about 1 mile into the drive, he immediately asked if we can try towing his box trailer with my truck as he's ready to pull the trigger on a hurricane.

Two small downsides:
1) I agree - it's less throaty noise. I'm a grown man, i dont really need the exhaust noise - i can get attention squeeling tires or gapping off the line if i need to.
2) It's my *limited* understanding that turbos should idle a minute and get good oil flow to them before taking off and working them. If you're the holler at your old lady and squeel out of the driveway type, - maybe get the 5.7 for less idle before drive time.

That's pretty much a relic of dino oil days, same as idling the motor to cool it before shutting it off. Dino oil would coke if left in a hot turbo with no circulation. Synthetics are much much more tolerant of heat. The Hurricane will continue to circulate oil even if the engine is off, as well.

That said, *no* vehicle should be hammered on cold, FI or NA. I remember some of the BMWs used to limit RPM until the oil hit a certain temp.

The true test is not able to be answered today. Wait a couple of years and we'll know how reliable the new motor is. Somehow adding two turbochargers along with associated water lines, oil lines, head gaskets, seals, extra stress on pistons, rods, and crank, and the computer to control all this just does not seem to be a way to improve reliability and longevity. So the motor falls apart at 100K miles- you got 3 extra MPG!

They've been out since 2022 in the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. Not really finding any mass complaints about it. One forum post about an engine failure at 20k miles due to a blown coolant line which lead to overheat. Not really the engine's fault.

Another year or two and we'll have a better view of the landscape, I suppose.

Could you please give us a current up date on your 2025 RAM I6 Hurricane.

Miles and any problems?

Thank You

How are you today with the Hurricane?
Miles?
Pros and Cons?
