My truck just hit 160k, I want to replace tie rods and lower ball joints. I hate that the upper ball joint needs to be replaced with the whole control arm, anyways.save that for later.
my truck rides like sh**.
Im going to order the parts but not sure how all this works..
correct me if im wrong.

2 lower ball joints, one for each side.

2 inner tie rods, one for each side.

2 outer tie rods, one for each side.

6 parts in total is this correct?

Please help me out, thanks in advanced

I believe you got em all , I'm sure you'll figure out what else you'd need once in there changing them , or during the ordering process .
As far as the upper ball joints go , go to www.rockauto.com
See if they have Mevotech Upper control Arms with greasable upper ball joints for your year model , I just changed my UCA'S with the Mevotecs 2014 Ram 4x4 , these things are BEAST , much Beefier than OEM and only $46.00 each ! They rust quickly from what I've heard so I recommend painting them with chassis paint .
If your ride is really bad , inspect any and all elastomeric bearings for tears and voids and bad dry rot , this will degrade your ride as well , you may also consider installing new shocks , I recommend Bilstein shocks ,they ride better than stock

Hope this helps !

R.L.K. Is right.. I second doing the shocks and struts also since you'll have everything torn apart up front anyways. I have the bilsteins on mine and recommend them. They ride great. And I'd maybe do your sway bar bushings also. That helps with any rattle or clunks ya might hear to.

You didn't specify if your truck is 2wd or 4wd. Essentially it won't matter but for the shocks/struts. 2wd doesn't have struts.

I just did this on my 2004 2wd at 172,000 miles and had a McGauhy's 2/4.5 drop installed at the same time. Here's the list of parts that I had replaced, not including the lowering kit.

Both upper control arms (ball joints aren't replaceable): 2x Moog CK7424 Front Upper Control Arm with Ball Joint
Both lower ball joints: 2x Moog K7411 Ball Joint
Control arm bushings for both lower control arms: 2x Moog K7417 Lower Control Arm Bushing Kit
Outer tie rod ends, one each side: 2x Moog ES3538 Tie Rod End
Sway bar end links: 2x Mevotech MK7400 Stabilizer Bar Link Bushing
Front sway bar frame bushings: Energy Suspension 5.5159R 34mm Front Sway Bar Bushing Set
I also had the rack bushings replaced: Energy Suspension 5.10103R Rack Bushing for Dodge 1500,2500,3500 2WD
And I had the coil spring insulators replaced: 2x Moog K160036 Coil Spring Insulator

I got most of the parts off Amazon as it was good pricing and fast shipping with Prime.

Since you plan to do this you might as well bite the bullet an do the uppers an do it all at once instead of having to go back in to do it.
