All I know is AE owes 00R/T a big commission check!

Things I am going to turn on tonight that more than one Service manager told I could not;

1. Auto dimming rear view mirror COMPLETE :favorites13:
2. Compass and Outside Temp in the Radio (the RA4 the same SM told me I could not put in) COMPLETE :favorites13:
3. Heated Steering Wheel COMPLETE:) :favorites13:
4. Ventilated seats COMPLETE:) :favorites13:
5. Adding soft key controls for items 3 & 4 to the RA4 touch screen COMPLETE:) :favorites13:
6. Maybe get the CD player back online (it currently shows up as a DTC "lost communication with the radio")
7. Also going to see about getting the inverter to work.
8. Get the SD card icon in the radio.
9. Get rid of the ECON button
10. Get the cargo cam button in the radio.

I saw the inverter code in the list if options when I was looking around with the tool. 00/RT enabled the option on his truck and couldn't get his inverter to respond. He was able to get it to work by rerouting the inverter trigger wire. I didn't bother trying to enable it because I didn't have the correct wiring in my truck anyway. I followed his post on (adding factory inverter) and wired everything up and ran the wire that is supposed to go to the BCM for the inverter trigger to accessory on positive and it works great. Just another option if yours ends up not working when you enable the code. Your truck should have all of the wiring all you would need to do is reroute one wire that plugs into the outlet in the dash.

Yeah, there were like 3 different inverter related options and I tried all the different permutations.

So I was told by a dodge service manager that I can't add any sales codes except the Mopar heated seat addon.

Guess I'll be externally wiring the steering wheel and rear heated seats.

go figure.

I am pretty sure if you bought the AE tool you could enable these features like we have been able to do. Your truck is a 2012 so it hasn't been attempted yet "at least not by any of us" I don't see why it wouldn't work but off corse there is no guarantee that it will. At over $400 the tool is expensive but I feel mine has more than paid for itself. I've also been able to help others by adding codes to their trucks with it. Unfortunately with you living in Canada you're kind of on your own out there. Maybe if you purchase the tool you can help other members in Canada and maybe charge a little bit for each code you add to their trucks to help compensate paying for the tool.

I was seriously considering that over the past two hours.

For the programmer and the Dodge files, I think a $500 investment might be worth it.

Sadly the dollar is absolute garbage right now.

I haven't messed with an 09-12 Ram but I have hooked up the AE to other pre-PowerNET Chrysler products and there wasn't a lot in there to change. It would be great if somebody who has the AE has access to an earlier Ram and can try it.

My friend has an 09 3500 Laramie. Maybe I can plug to it and see what it looks like. Since his is a Laramie it already has all the features but in 2009 the 2500 and 3500 still kept the old body style his seats are heated but not ventilated and he has no heated steering wheel even though it's a Laramie.

It's called autoengenuity. If you search this thread you can find a lot of info about it.

Deere guy thank you for your help. Seriously for those who did not do their own the clock spring was easy, I reused the locking device on my old one not that I will ever use it again. Got seats heating and cooling on both sets of buttons. Now on to my other tasks. Also got the outside temp, compass and auto dim mirror on the radio.

Oh I have had 3 RA2 and 3 RA4 radios running in my truck and this is the only one that has this "ECON" button which seems to do nothing. Anyone know what it is???

So had the dealer install the clock spring for me today (last one I did went horribly horribly wrong!) So anyways ..... I now have a heated wheel!!! They didn't add any codes, and I have soft keys for the seats, and the drivers seat and wheel turn on with the remote start. I pretty much have everything.... except a soft key for the wheel.... couldn't be happier. I honestly didn't expect it to work at all and had accepted that I was going to need to buy a programmer. So good day for me! The dealer did do 2 free software flashes...IPC and ITBM.I have no idea what that is or if they have anything to do with this mod. Truck is a 2016 Express with 2016 Big Horn SLT front seats. Again a HUGE thank you to RicksRam and DeereGuy for all of their help! Never could have pulled this off with out them!

I really bet that they added a code for you of some sort and just didn't disclose it. Who knows though. Until we get more test cases, I guess we won't know. All I know is Good for you!!! Congrats!

The dealer would have to go through WIC to get the codes added as it's not available in our list of options. I have heard Chrysler has cracked down severely on dealers going through WIC to add codes I'm also not sure they could do it that quickly. It would also seem that if they had the heated seat code added they would have also done the heated steering wheel. It seems crazy but maybe when they did the reflash since the heated seats were already in and working it just picked up on them somehow I'm not sure but like Deer Guy says IT WORKS! and that's the main thing. We will have to get more trucks done before we can start figuring out a pattern.

I believe they econ button is to turn off the eco light off on the dash but doesn't effect mds.

Did you ever see it prior to installing the heated seats and steering wheel? Not that they are related but wondering if became active after turning the seat features on.

Yes it only shows up on this radio and has always been there since I got it about a year ago. I recently had it out to update my old 2014 radio and that radio did not have it. Put this one back in and it comes back? Does not hurt anything just weird
