Adding Heated/Ventelated seats and Heated Wheel to Express/Tradesman

His signature says RA4, just looks like he has it in the stock bezel. We will have to wait for him to comment to know for sure.

I do wonder if there is a difference in the BCM based on model or fuel type, in that the HD and diesel trucks have different options that could not be offered on a 1500 gas truck and vice versa?

Also a little off track here but many guys complain about the TPS on the 2500 trucks because the threshold is set to high. One option has been to reset that threshold lower, but I have seen and have a multi switch that includes a "LIGHT LOAD TIRE PRESSURE BUTTON". I read that this button disables the warning light or uses a lower threshold thereby eliminating the issue, apparently this is an option not installed in all trucks. What I am wondering is the AE able to add that option? That would make a lot of guys happy, especially on the 16 or 17 trucks where the threshold adjustment has been locked out, or so I read.

I posted a bunch of links a few pages back. August Pohl had like half a dozen used ones. I think they were around $150.

Got mine from allmoparparts here on the forum. Think it was like $240.

I saw the option for the light load tire pressure option in one of the vehicle config options. I only noticed it because 69mach1 posted a picture of his switch bank that had that option and I had never heard of it before.

Hi Guys,

I tried more on start run cycles today with no luck, per Deereguy I went out tonight and disconnected both batteries again but no luck. When I turn on the heated seat or cooled seat on the first try it stays on(as well as the switch lights & 8.4 RA4 display) for ~20 seconds and then turns off. The second try is stays on for 2 seconds. During the 20 second period if I turned on the cooled seat I can hear the seat fan spool up and it I do the heated seated a few times(start stop cycles) I can feel the seat warming up.

Mpgrimm2,
My factory radio was the RA2 5.0 and now I have the 8.4RA4 (from a 2016 Jeep Cherokee :( while still using the 5.0 4spd bezel. I'll post over in the 8.4 upgrade INFO
post with more info on the 2016 radio I have installed.

I'm also running a 2013 7" cluster just to help mix things up ;-)

More than likely I'll need to use the AE tool to get this up and running. Small chance I could have the dealer flash the dealer optional seat heaters but that would be another ~$60 and the possibility of one more scratch in my bumper :flipthebird:

If something magical happens in the mean time I'll chime in.

Thanks for all the help and encouragement guys :happy107:

I would love to hook the AE tool up to your truck and see what DTCs it is showing. It's really bizarre that it works for a few seconds sometimes and then doesn't work, but the buttons always lights up for a bit. Did you try and unhook the batteries for a few and see if that helps?

Default Adding Heated/Ventelated seats and Heated Wheel to Express/Tradesman
@69mach1

What radio do you have installed? If you upgraded to the RA3/RA4, are you running the factory bezel or the OEMAuto one?

I have a strong suspicion the problem is the 5.0 bezel. I don't know why there's any dependency, but I think there is.

When I originally installed my heated seats and wheel they behaved exactly like yours. I tried everything I could think of and had pretty much given up. When I installed the factory 8.4 bezel and the new HVAC module everything started working. I was unsure at the time if it was the change in hardware, the fact that I had my battery disconnected for hours, or just luck.

But, I believe you're the only other person so far that has seen this issue. I also believe you're the only one without an 8.4 bezel.

I have yet to use this option but my understanding is I push the light load button, lower my tire pressure from 80psi down to 45psi and then I may need to hit the button one more time. So it would let me run at lower tire pressures without setting off the TPMS warning light.

I did try a 2014 7" cluster for a while and the TPMS said to service it and had no psi readings. I'm much happier with the 2013 Cluster with the TPMS working as it should :favorites13: I'll like it I'm sure when I'm loaded for bear and I'll know if a tire is low before blowing a tire(I hope)

One of these days I'll try it out :naughty:

I can believe that scenario. Might have something to do with the HVAC module. Mpgrimm2 is working on an 8.4 4spd harness upgrade for me. I have the 8.4 factory bezel waiting but still need to order the HVAC module. Once I get that installed we'll try again

If you're doing the upgrade anyway, I'd definitely wait until you have it all set before going too crazy trying to troubleshoot what's going on with the seats. Unfortunately until we have more data points we're all kind of guessing. I think we've learned quite a bit though in the past month or so since we got Rick's truck going.

Cant catch a break, seats showed up yesterday. Carparts listed them as condition "A". When I bought them the guy on the phone told me they were in excellent condition with 19k on the donor truck and sent me a picture from before they were removed. When I looked at them in the delivery truck they were terrible, no headrest, bottom cushion covers were loose and partially removed, leather was severely worn and scuffed on both seats, the plastic trim where the switches are was scuffed gouged and one side was cracked, to top it off they were filthy. Man I am getting more and more pissed just writing this. The delivery driver was abit shocked as well. He told me to refuse to accept them which I did. The yard I bought them from is "LKQ ALL MODELS CORP" in Phoenix Arizona. I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt in that there was some sort of mix up, but the odds of this seem improbable. Well I need to call them today to see what the deal is, what I want ideally is for this to have been a mistake and them to send me what I was promised. Failing that I want them to issue me a full refund including shipping and taxes.

Anyone have any experience with something like this, if the yard itself gives me any grief can I go up the chain to LKQ. I also know I can make a claim with CC company but hoping to avoid that. Unfortunately I did not have my cell with me, certainly did not expect this so I have no photographic proof of condition.:mad3::mad3::mad3:

On a softer note 69Mach1 where in Ct are you?

did seats and such not have them? or were they more money ? everyone that has bought from Casey likes his stuff. I know the yard you are talking about, been there as i am about 8 hours from there, they are nationwide from my understanding, so you got luck of the draw of what min wage idiot was pulling them - sorry dude. i bet there were pristine till some jealous a-hole removed them.

Yes the ones I have were from Casey at Seats and such and they are Pristine and function perfectly, except for one very important fact that they were from a 5500 and do not have and are not set up for airbags! When I bought them from him I specifically asked him if the airbags were intact as many vendors on EBAY sell them with airbags removed and he told me they were. I just spoke with Casey on the phone and to his credit he promised when he gets a his next shipment he will make it right and send me replacement seats. I will keep ya posted.
