Did you have any problems getting the i311 connector off to add the heated wheel pins?

No trouble with it at all. I popped it out of its bracket and plugged them right in

Well I looked all over with my AE tool and I cannot find the memory seat code. I was able to find the memory pedals in ECU Memory #5. I may have missed it but I looked through Pretty much all of the screens. I also try ed to see if it worked without codes just in case with no success. Cptwing next time your using the tool maybe you can see if you can find it again and let us know where you found it so we can compare.

It was in ECU #5 memory on my truck. I saw it yesterday when I was adding the temp and compass to my Radio. I didn't try to enable it. I tried to connect to the memory seat module with AE and couldn't even connect to the module. Not sure If it's the AE tool or if it's because the CAN wires are missing.

Neither Rick nor I have anything in there for the memory seats. Actually, the only one in there that has anything to do with memory is the pedals.

I finished the install today.
A big thank you to Deereguy for making a harness with such attention to detail :favorites13: MpGrimm2 is helping on a 8.4 harness as well so yeah to M2-Mods and this forum :)

The bummer news is my heated/cooled seats still don’t work :-( I first turned on the driver cooled seat dash switch and the light on the switch came on, I could hear the cool fan turn on and was thrilled!... then 20 or 30 seconds later it turned off as did the switch lights.

I then tried the driver heated seat switch and both lights on the switch came on, a small ICON on the radio lite up and then 20 - 30 seconds later the switch lights and radio ICON turned off.

I think I’m SOL until either I get the dealer option heated seats sales code flashed (purely a maybe) or I buy the AE tuner & software so I can turn things on.

I’ll do quick search and see if there’s anything else I might try to get at least the heated seat portion working, I do recall others having a similar issue.

If anybody else has ideas I'm all ears :favorites13:

Thanks guys :favorites13:

Not sure why I have it or why mine works, I will going to be working on the truck this week, swapping seats againan going to post the ones I have for sale. I will look through and see exactly where it is and what I enable and take screenshots. Rick, I plan on hooking up the AE then and trying to fix several issues, one of which you had a similar problem. My 14 radio shows the SD button and works great, the 15 Radio does not its not there? How did you fix it and do you think it can
be fixed with the AE?

When I first installed mine they did the same thing the heated seats would come on and then go off after about 20 seconds, they acted this way initially but after about 3 or 4 ignition cycles they decided to stay on and worked. They worked fine after that. This was before I installed the upgraded clockspring or enabled everything with AE.

Ok going put this out there, the AE tool is not cheap and many will buy it just for this mod alone which is really kind of crazy. I think that what WillamS proposed is a very good idea, not sure AE would agree though. I live in Northeast Ct and would gladly meet up with nearby members and help them enable this stuff. This would be with the understanding that liability is solely on them. Contact thru PM

I wonder what triggers that code being available on a VIN. I had the dealer check and that wasn't an option on my 2016 tradesman but it was available on DodgeTk81s 2015 tradesman and on MaizenBlues 2015 express.

I have a 2016 Express ;)

Don't want all this research to be off, if anyone is keeping a tally

Little off topic but has anyone successfully used the AE tool to turn on power fold mirrors? I see OBD Genie has got it figured out so it looks like one should be able to turn it on. I would buy the AE tool just for that, but I have a list of other reasons I need it also lol

No.The AE can toggle the mirror options but they have no effect on the operation.

I have a 16 radio. I did not have the AE tool when I got the radio. 00/RT did have the tool and he was unable to find any way to enable the media options in his BCM. I ended up purchasing the Genie to activate my SD slot. It worked great. I have not seen anywhere to activate it with my AE tool either but I would check all of your screens first. We are starting to see that the 15 and 16 trucks have a few more options in the BCM than the 13 and 14. My truck is a 14 and I cannot adjust my material selection on my heated seats and I also don't have the memory seat setting in ECU #5 that you and Deer Guy have.

I'm guessing I'm going to find even fewer options since mine is a 2013 Tradesman ST but I'm still hopeful. Out of curiosity can we install a BCM from a newer truck or will it be VIN locked and the truck wouldn't even run? Also I would love to enable my USB port with the AE tool as that would help justify even further an AE purchase :naughty:

It seems to go by year and not trim level as to what options are available in the BCM. We are learning more everyday but there are several things you can do with the tool. As far as changing the BCM it would have to be programmed to your truck and you've old end up with the same thing you had.

So far no joy after ~ 10+ unlock, start, off, lock open door routines  but hopefully tomorrow it'll wake up. Sometimes the cooled seat motor starts and runs for 20 seconds and then turns off, and then sometimes it's just the switch light & ICON that turn on and then off 20 seconds later. I think it's just teasing me

Question for those using the AE tool. I have an Edge with Attitude tuner set to stock (I primarily use it for the gauges), will I need to remove it to program the BCM?

I would love to hook the AE tool up to your truck and see what DTCs it is showing. It's really bizarre that it works for a few seconds sometimes and then doesn't work, but the buttons always lights up for a bit. Did you try and unhook the batteries for a few and see if that helps?

Adding Heated/Ventelated seats and Heated Wheel to Express/Tradesman

@69mach1

What radio do you have installed? If you upgraded to the RA3/RA4, are you running the factory bezel or the OEMAuto one?
