Hey,
I just finished adding the OEM remote start to my 2017 2500 CTD.

I used AlfaOBD. I programmed the FOBIKs first, they work fine.

My kit was just the hood switch, harness, and fobs.

I was able to obtain my code, added
Remote start present
Hood ajar switch present
Hood ajar ohms 1000
And reset the RF HUB.

Now I’m getting one horn beep when I try to start, and the Alfa shows an antenna failure.
I gave the dealer I ordered my kit from my vin but I’ll have to double check part numbers because now I’m worried I have the wrong RF HUB. Should I just wait longer. It’s maybe been an hour.

Take it for a drive. Turn the engine on and off another 1 or 2 times.

Regardless if they gave you the wrong kit, 2017-18 just needs from the kit, the hood latch with harness. Harness plugs into the latch then ground and pin 11 in the c1 connector at the bcm under the dash by the steering column. The rf hub has the antenna built-in.

Thanks for the reply! Tried that, so far no go.

I did read about an issue with early 2017’s not having the right HUB. I’ll keep trying though. Hopefully it’s not an issue with the RF hub

Did you follow these steps

It's possible that your truck has a 2016 rf hub. Where in alfaobd is it showing that there is a antenna error

Yes I am, I actually printed those out and followed them exactly.

The Alfa sometimes says MY2016 when it’s plugged in.
When it wasn’t working, i went to radio frequency hub, selected remote start antenna test. It said procedure complete but test failed.

My RF hub PN is 68319677AB, which from me searching the forums works. Maybe I did something wrong

Update:
Today went to work.
Nothing when I got up and tried it, but after the long-ish drive to work, still not working, getting one beep but now on the screen I’m getting “Remote Start Cancelled-Hood Ajar”
But it isn’t. that’s good, at least it isn’t the RF HUB I think.

It works!
The hub needed to be driven longer to reset, because before I wasn’t getting the “remote start cancelled” message.

With Alfa, I found 12v at the hood ajar switch, indicating it wasn’t connected to the BCM.
Although I didn’t have a harness going to the hood switch, pin hole 11 was populated, and I put the connector in number 10, like an idiot. I switched it, and it works!

Thanks for all of your help!

Has anyone used Moab_Rockstar's install on a 2017 2500 yet (original post on Page 1)? I see some 1500s, but have not seen any attempts on a 2500 yet. If this works, it's far cheaper than buying the kit.

I used the instructions in post 1 of this thread for the install on my 2017 2500. Worked perfectly.

I have a 2017 1500 and looking to install this remote start. When I log into Alpha it shows up as 2016. Will I need to replace my Rf hub? Also when I reset the hub will I lose all the changes I’ve made with alpha??? I’ve made quite a few and u really do not want to have to go back n start over.

Is there a reason the remote start kits don't list the 3.6L as compatible? Am I missing something? I saw mention in the thread that they *might* need an additional harness, but that's it.

Any help is appreciated.

My understanding is that "additional harness" is for 3.6L with the "Electronic Start Stop" or ESS system.

It's possible that the sales code didn't take. It's happened to me before when I've added fog lights before I bought alphaobd. Took the dealer 2-3 times flashing the code for the truck to take it.

It's also a slight possibility that if you have a very early production 17 that it has a 2013-16

I'd have the dealer reflash it and they should be able to get the part number off of the rf hub and check to see if it's actually a 2017 hub

Can anyone give me some insight on this? I really don’t want to get started on this project to find out I have to rip apart the back of my truck. If so I will just go aftermarket. Is there anyway to determine beforehand?
Thanks

Connect to your rf hub, then select the battery icon on the bottom right. Read system id- what part number is your rf hub?

I don’t see the listing for rf hub. Is it the ECU number? 68320319AB
