I have a 2018 that came with a 3.0 no Uconnect and now have a UAQ radio. I have used the stock hockey puck antenna with no problems and once got an OTA update. I got a really good deal on my radio from LKQonline and Mpgrimm2 also suggests Schram (got my bezel there)

Cool! Thats good to know. Thank you.
If you are using a 13-17 RAx 8.4 radio in a 13-17 truck you can install a Cell Bypass Plug onto the cellular antenna input at the radio to get rid of the 911/cell system error message you'd get by not having the sharkfin antenna (sxm/GPS & cellular ... mustard & violet connectors) where the flat puck only has the single sxm/GPS( mustard connector).

The 2018 UAx radio doesn't even seen to care/check the cellular connection so no bypass plug is needed.

Looking for help with a few issues following my RA2 to UAQ swap. The number 1 is a big problem for me as I'm a contractor and I'm always on the phone. If it can't be resolved I'm open to trading for a RA4 radio+cash. Thanks in advance, fellas!

What I've noticed so far:
1. Handsfree sound quality is poor and I can barely hear the caller. This is with the volume turned up to the max on both the radio and the phone (iphone 8 plus)
2. Backup camera quality. The picture is fuzzy and has a bit of static
3. HVAC heat controls are unpredictable, the screen shows full heat but the air is still cold. If I keep pressing the heat UP button on the bezel it works.

Note, I did the install with the battery connected. I'll disconnect the battery tomorrow to see if it helps with anything.

Here's a picture of the software details:

The heat problem has been answered in this very thread. You have to use AlfaOBD to change the BCM first to a dual zone automatic climate control and then to a single zone automatic climate.

The camera and phone stuff I don’t know about.

So I'm considering this upgrade. I have a few questions after spending a couple of hours reading this thread. I have a 2014 Limited which came with the dual zone automatic climate control and the 8.4AN.

Do the navigation prompts still not show up in the premium cluster? Is there still a problem with the Sirius information not showing up in the premium cluster?

Will I need the updated HVAC control module?

My understanding is that I need a UAQ or UAS radio, media hub, adapter cable for media hub and the Infotainment interface for the heated/cooled seats to show up on stereo-Anything else I am missing?

Any other functions of the UAS/UAQ radios that won't work or function in a limited capacity?

Thanks for the help.

I have the 68268186AA, this is what Don sold me. Was i supposed to receive the 2018 HVAC module?
It's debatable if it would help or not. It'***** or miss honestly... Did you see the posts in Gibbs thread I suggested?
You'd be better off using AlfaOBD to set HVAC config to dual zone ATC temporarily before trying the 18 module to see if the ATC setting makes the slider work correctly.

Infotainment has posted a new install video on the UAS/UAQ upgrade they are selling and I find it interesting that they make no mention whatsoever of upgrading the HVAC module to the 2018 one. I wonder if they are altering something in the programing of the radio to avoid the need or if they are just ignoring it...

They also didn't mention all the stuff you need to do if upgrading from a 5" radio in a 2500-3500 with the different cabling, fan resistors, etc even though the beginning of the video said 1500-5500. I guess that video is only applicable if you already had the 8.4

I see at 7:48 on the video Infotainment finally copied our UAx USB hub adapter cable vs the one they had originally with no aux support.

I'll add this... They do a good job of supporting the complete kits they sell. One stop shopping.

Their video ...

Imitation is the highest form of flattery, but they'll never have your reputation for quality, or customer service, or recommendability, or reasonable prices, or return business (without another name change)...you get where I'm going.

I have a friend that has the most interesting sayings, I never know if they are original or not and don't care, This one fits:)

You can pay more (Infotainment) but you can't buy better (M2Mods).

M2mods, being Mike D and Mike G are the absolute best and their service is unmatchable as is their product.
