Have any of you guys that did this towed with this setup? I actually would only want to do it because I hate when that dumb clutch fan runs when it is like -30F here in the AM. Why would I want that when clearly it is cold enough.

I'm going to say maybe. I would consider an aftermarket one though. But there are some good reasons for electric over the stock one. Especially for better performance at different engine speeds.

Anyone ever install something like a Deral dual electric fan?

If 2500's use the same radiator and efan then I don't see why it wouldn't work on one. I don't believe I've seen anyone try it on a 2500 so there's a chance if you do try it that you could be one of the few. I think it would do good with towing too since it's only on when it needs to be or when max a/c is selected. And when it turns on, it cools the engine fast.

I have the 1500 E Fan on my '13 2500 5.7.
It does indeed fit right on and bolts up no issues.

HOWEVER

The factory wiring needs to be extended about 3-4".
certainly not impossible, but annoying.

It's kept the truck right around 201-203° like the clutch fan did.
I never tow, so I can't tell ya.

I'm working on a plug and play solution for this. I may be able to secure some of the factory connectors and put together a plugin extension for the harness so you don't have to cut, crimp, or solder anything. I'll probably have to order the connectors in bulk, so I imagine I'll be able to make quite a few of these extensions if anyone is interested.

Hey guys I am interested in doing this mod on my 2014 sport 5.7L. If I do this mod without changing the Tstat and adding a tuner will I have any issues? Or can I just change the Tstat? I am located in bc canada and sometimes in the summer it gets up to 35C. From what I read this is plug and play 2 speed fan and turns on when you have a/c on max or when the temp gets to 200 or so. When does the low speed turn on? Great write up, thanks

I'm not sure how hard it is to change but I would just change it to be safe. Don't want to over heat ur motor

Is this TCY 622320 fan a 2 wire hook up? I bought a 2013 factory V6 fan and it was a 3 wire hook up and I could find no way to get it to work, I also looked at Dorman 321-410 which is suppose to be the same as a 622320 only better quality but they show it having a 3 wire hookup..
I'd love to do this to my 2014 5.7 but haven't seen any one prove it will work.

Yea I'm pretty sure. I can go check real quick. It plugged 7nto my factory ac wiring. Had this pic saved of the connector from the tyco fan, it's 2 wire

I took of the clutch fan and put a ele fan on my 95 f250. And I notice a huge butt dyno gain. I haven't done it to the ram yet

Best way to get old one off is to rent the tool for removal from parts store. Comes with a fork to hold it while you loosen with wrench in the kit. Makes the job easy.

2013 Hemi "fan delete" ATI Pulley

I just completed the efan and dampener pulley mods on my 13 Ram. I am very happy with both mods! Truck defiantly idles and accelerates harder, as well as feels much smoother. I havnt even loaded back on my 93 HF tune (had some recalls completed same time) and truck feels GREAT, especially at 85-100, hit a nice pass of empty straight highway...truck pulled quick and hard and still had pedal left.

My truck OEM had the same fan motor as the new v6 OEM replacement I ordered to replace. This is the fan that I believe Matt at Moes is informing 14 and newer about. I wanted the smaller shroud and design rather than keeping the bigger original for the clutch fan. Fan fit perfect...Really cleans up the engine compartment. I did notice that with this motor the pigtail had one extra pin and my harness had the female connector but my oem fan only had 2. I believe this extra connection activates the thermal switch that activates the lower speed. Both Fans are made by Denso.

I even installed my S and B snorkel for the CAI while I was out there. I was examing the hose from the crankcase that runs over the top of the motor and then connects back into the airbox. I am hesitant to add a small separate air filter as some have done and remove rhe hose from airbox but then I would be taking in warmer engine bay air right above my headers. With the S&B I take in filtered colder air. I thought about upgrading the diameter of the hose that runs over motor and back to crank case or just remove it . Any thoughts???
