I bought Moto Metal 951s and Nitto Terra Grappler G2s from Discount Tire and had a vibration. After letting DT and an independent shop Road Force balance them I still had the vibration. DT let me exchange the Nittos for BFG A/T KO2s and I still have a vibration. Is it possible a wheel could be out of round or do you think I need to try hub centric rings? Anyone else using hub centric rings with Moto Metal wheels? If so, which ones (size) should I order? The Moto Metal site shows the bore being 108 for the wheels I got. Thanks

I always try and buy hubcentric wheels, but if not I always use the spacers

Also, make sure you remove these brake rotor clips, they aren't needed and will cause your aftermarket wheel to not sit flush. These clips are only used for the assembly line process, they serve no purpose for you now. DT knows to remove these as they have had issues before but they might have overlooked the removal.

I went through a similar scenario recently also. Different brands altogether, but I digress...

Is the vibration in the steering wheel? Or just in general...
See if rotating them front to back causes it to leave, or enter the steering wheel.

You can do one side at a time, and pretty much pin point your wobble wheel.

It's not uncommon for big tires and wheels like those to have some sidewall wobble, or to need re mounted 180 degrees off if where they were before.

I do see you are on a new set of tires, and they do it too...but at least with diagnosing the wobble wheel, it gives you ammo to ask for a new wheel, or re balance that tire.

How did they balance them? With actual weights? Or the dyna beads?

I thought the beads were snake oil....until my $100 vision wheels and my cheapo treadwright tires got them, and the truck rides as smooth as silk

JB1 they did remove those clips.

Johnnymac2k6 the vibrations are in the seat mostly. I've had the wheels road force balanced twice and I watched one shop let the air out of a couple tires and rotate it on the rim. That shop also rotated the tires at the same time. I'm taking it to another DT tomorrow. They're the ones that suggested it may need the hub rings. I'm bringing my factory wheels/tires to put on first. If no vibrations then we know it is a wheel and/or tire issue. And yes, they used traditional weights and not beads.
