I purchased new Pro Comp wheel/tire combo from 4wheelpart.
PC AT Sport 285/70/17 on PC 45 Proxy wheels. The store balanced them. All good, except when hit about 65-75 mph, the steering wheel get a little shimmy.
Not bad on a very smooth stretch of a hwy, but much more pronounced on a rougher one. So, ended up getting these Hub Centric rings from Amazon. They're 78.1mm to 108mm. The issue improved quite bit, but still can feel it on a very rough road. Not sure if it can be attributed to Pro Comp tires. Had almost no vibration on Stock wheels with GY Ultraterrain 33" tires.

Yes if the bore on the new wheels is bigger than the job because you will never get the wheels center on the hub. They will always sit toward the bottom when you put them wheels on and even that little bit can throw off balance. A more aggressive tire will almost always have a little vibration at higher speeds. Not all tires but most.

You need the diameter of the hub on your truck. Which is 77.8mm and your new wheel bore diameter, you can get from the wheel's manufacture specs. In my case, I bought 78.1 to 108 hubcentric rings.
Sometimes they label them as
OD=108mm, ID=78.1mm.
The reason I went with 78.1 vs 77.8, I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to slip them onto the hub, due to no clearance.

So 78.1 is recommended over 77.8 correct? Was your 78.1 s tight fit?

There was no play, but it was not tight either. I would probably go with 77.8, if I had to do it over. But very small difference.

Update: 77.8mm rings fit just fine and actually more tighter. Confirmed it on another truck.

My experience in the past has been with Aluminum only. They work great but do tend to stick to the hub a little. If you dont regularly rotate your wheels I can see them seizing and being a pain to remove. I'm currently trying to find a set for my brothers 5th gen. He got some Black Rhino wheels with a 112mm bore. But not having any luck as all the companies I have checked so far are only going up to 110mm. Would need 77.8mmID and 112mmOD.

Be sure to remove that clip that holds the rotor on. This may be causing your vibration.
