When you set it to single zone ATC using alpha. You should see the temp where the temp slider is. You’re still has the black dot so it’s not enabled and or it has not been sent by the BCM to the radio.

Yours should look like this. Once the single zone activates the auto will pop up.

Did you enable the temp sensor and ATC like it says in the AlfaOBD thread?

I haven’t done that no. I need to read up on how to do that.

It’s very easy to do. Refer to the first in the Alfa thread. It’s just 3 changes.

In the Body control module of Alfa. Find HVAC configuration - change it to Dual zone first. Exit and let the truck sleep until it takes effect. You will see 2 sliders on your radio when this is in working order. One for driver one for passenger.

Next go back in with Alfa and charge your HVAC configuration to single zone ATC. Let the truck sleep and your radio should look just like mine.

Some people have had problem with doing this two step process. I personally didn’t have a problem at all

If by chance you have any problems with it not working correctly. Go back in with Alfa and change your hvac configuration back to MTC(manual temp control). Once your radio takes effect and you have the black dot in the slider. Go back into Alfa and change it straight to single zone ATC.

Reminder****** If you have a 1500. You need the harness for the humidity sensor(should be by the mirror) and the one for the temp sensor (under your steering wheel). If it’s a 2500 you only need the temp sensor.

I'm not even seeing the spot to change it to dual. I'm using the windows version.

FYI, you have to add the ATC sensors to make ATC work if you haven't already. But just going through the change in the BCM and back might get something working correctly with the 18 module

You have to go in the body control module.
Then the last setting. Car configuration.

Then hvac configuration

And I'm gonna have to check to see if I have a temp sensor in there. I may not. I know I haven't put one in.

I changed it to Dual zone ATC. Shut the truck off and I'll give it 15 minutes or so. I appreciate the help!!

Currently giving this a try just taking some time for the radio to update... I changed it to Dual ATC and the buttons/slider work correctly. Just changed it back to Single MTC and will see what happens. Worst case I may try leaving it in Single ATC if everything works correctly without the sensors.

My truck took over 24 hours for the dual sliders to show up on the radio. I’d love to speak to one of the engineers that designed this system to ask why that is.

Not discounting your question, as I've wondered the same, but the process can be sped up considerably by removing the battery cables and touching them together. I went from single zone MTC to dual zone ATC to single zone ATC in about 10 minutes using this method.

With the help from you folks here, my climate control is working normally!! Yay! As stated by Lawsuit11, the fix was to set it to Dual zone Auto and wait until the truck decides to display two slider bars. Then go back and set it to Single Auto zone and once again wait for the truck. I disconnected both batteries this time per ckleinfeld and that sped things up.

I check the slider on the radio vs the actualor arm under the glove box and they work correctly. Woohoo!! Now I just need the temp sensor and a cable assembly to make it all work in auto mode. AlfaOBD comes in mighty handy once again.

Did you install the ATC Temp sensor & wiring or just change the BCM settings.

Just wanted to post that i completed the UAQ upgrade to my 2014 RAM 1500 and have the issue with the temperature control. I bought and installed the new HVAC module 68366552AA and unfortunately I still have the issue. Manual temperature control only.

I just ordered up the heater module 68366552AA off ebay (new). My truck is a Canadian truck that was imported in to the US not long before I bought it (if that matters). So I hope that fixes it for me. I already tried the unplug battery trick twice with no luck.
Thanks Ck.
Definitely nothing concrete as there have been a handful of people with the same UAx issue (2-3) that wasn't corrected with a 2018 HVAC module.
It also seems that the single zone ATC configuration may be immune to this problem. I don't think anyone that did the single zone ATC mod has had it happen.

Sure thing, this will be lengthy....

2015 CC Express, 5.7, 6 speed. Originally RA1 w/ 7 speed HVAC blower.

Upgraded to an Infotainment UAQ kit. Early kit (Dec '17) with new radio 68331631AH and HVAC module 68268186AA. Realized the temp control issue in spring of '18 (on screen slider is biased to hot, full cold with the slider was still mostly hot)

Based on work by other forum members, I swapped out the supplied HVAC control module for PN 68366552AA. This did not correct the temperature problem. This was purchased used on eBay.

I then purchased a new 68366552AA, as I wanted to be sure there wasn't an issue with the module, it didn't help.

Tried UAS radios PN 68274757AI and 68331635AH and saw the same response. These were both supplied by Infotainment.

From there I decided to try and see if ATC would fix the issue. To avoid another connector interface, Mpgrimm2 built a complete harness with ATC provisions; this replaced the Infotainment harness. Once installed, along with the necessary temperature and humidity sensors, I confirmed single zone MTC control was the same as before. Once reconfiguring for single zone ATC (using Alpha, changing to dual zone ATC first), the on screen temperature slider properly controlled the temperature blend door actuator. First time since using the rotary knob on the original bezel!

It's still a head scratcher. Throughout the process I've ruled out the radio, harness, and HVAC control module. All HVAC actuators would calibrated properly using Alpha, and no codes were being set to either the BCM or the HVAC (climate) control module.

Finally did the conversion today. I had been using my UAS with the infotainment bezel.
Install was in a 2014 Bighorn 1500 (Canadian) using HVAC Module 68268186AA. I have full heat and movement of the blend doors.

interesting that your 2014 ram 1500 temperature slider controls and blend doors work correctly on your 18 UAS radio using the 13-17 68268186AA module.

If only there was some consistency in which module to use with these radios. Every time it seems things are figured out there's a new curve ball thrown.

FYI.. updated post 6. Everyone look kit over and see if you notice anything. Last 2 guys, please let us know which modules, radios you've used, and truck info please and I will update post 6...

I will be curious what PNs he has for the various 18 trucks/trims. Still seems like a calibration/relearn but can't know without trying a few things one at time to eliminate them.

It's interesting that it works correctly (differently) with the 17 radio (minus the service cell error message you were getting), which verifies the 8.4 conversion harness and xxxx5017AE module are good imo (& DeereGuy). But the we are all essentially using a 13-17 module with the 18 radios. And the rest of us w/13-17 trucks & UAS or UAQ radio also have the Single zone ATC mod, and use the "Auto" temp function a lot.

- Mpgrimm2: 13Ram1500, 18 UAQ, Single Zone ATC mod/bezel (xxxx5017 module for 4spd)

- DeereGuy: 16Ram2500, 18 UAQ, Single Zone ATC mod (xxxx5017 module for 4spd)

- 00R/T: 13Ram1500, 18 UAQ, Single Zone ATC mod/bezel (xxxx5017 module for 4spd)

- Rick's Ram: 14Ram1500, 18 UAQ, Single Zone ATC mod/bezel (xxxx8186 module for 7spd)

- STecoD: 15Ram1500, 18 UAQ, Single Zone ATC mod/bezel (xxxx8186 module for 7spd)

Edit/updates:

- 61N150W: 14Ram1500, 18 UAS (CA), Single Zone MTC, w/ xxxx8186 = No issues !?!

- Gibbs: 18Ram2500, 18 UAS, Single Zone MTC (issues w/ xxxx5017 fixed w/2018 68366553AA module)

- Guido2112: 17Ram1500, 18 UAS, single Zone MTC, (issues w/ xxxx8186 fixed w/2018 68366552AA module)

- ckleinfeld: 15ram1500, 18 UAQ, Single Zone MTC, (issues w/ xxxx8186 & 2018 68366552AA module. Fixed w/Sgl Zone ATC mod)

- jdip: 14Ram1500, 18 UAQ, Single Zone MTC, (issues w/ 68183973ab [alt for 8186] & 2018 68366552AA module. Other issues with radio v21.9)

14ram1500, 18 UAQ, Single Zone MTC, (issues w/ xxxx8186 & 2018 68366552AA module)

My current solution is I changed the BCM to Single Zone ATC and the sliders/buttons function properly. I don't have the temperature sensor and humidity sensor, but it will be my next mod after the holidays.

My UAS has a manufacturing date of Jan, 2017 on it, if that adds to anything.

What's the "application version" of your radio within Dealer Mode? v18.14, 19.9, 21.9, or 22.5?
