So I took my intake manifold out to do a plenum repair, and I'm the process of removing the major pita called the egr I broke the sensor next to it, on the right looking at the engine. Can anyone tell me what it is so I can add it to the price list.

Also I got a ton of crap down where the intake sits and I'm worried about not being able to clean it good

Cut a cheap wally world funnel and tape it on the end of your vacuum to get in those tight spots. You definitely don’t want **** falling in.

Be careful doing this if you have already used cleaning solvents - I "ventilated" a perfectly good shop vacuum when the vac's electric motor touched off the combustible fumes of the solvent. While better vac's may have sealed or brushless motors, apparently mine didn't, and died a quick but painful death.

Buddy exploded one cleaning the lifter valley on an engine - he didn't realize the engine had a bad fuel pump and had fuel in the oil. His poor shop pooch was laying just a few feet away and peed it's blankie - dog runs for cover anytime you use an electric tool now!

They make small air operated vac's that run off your shop air compressor supply that work OK in these situations, starting at $50 or so. Wise investment if you plan on doing much engine work.

Don't get too over confident working around anything flammable with an air powered vac either. The air flow in a plastic hose can build up static electricity and cause a spark.

Yeah, good point. I try to do the "mechanical" part of the cleanup first - the scraping, wire brushing, debris removal first, and save the solvents for last.

They are great tools but the problem with those are you need a large volume compressor to have it operate properly, I have one but my compressor is only a 20gal so it doesn’t have enough cfm @40-90psi to keep up.
