I dunno what the deal is, but the 3" inlet on mine was a little too big.

I had to crank the HELL out of the clamp to get it to even thing about sealing.

I'm a big boy (6'5" / 330lb) and I ended up using a 1/2" breaker bar to tighten it - I'm REALLY surprised I didnt break the bolt in the clamp.

when it was what I would have called tight with a regular 1/2" ratchet - it still rattled on the pipe!

It eventually sealed but man, I put a whole lot more on that little bolt than I ever thought I should....

Sorry to sway away from the topic a little but does just a muffler change make a difference in hp, throttle response, mpg? Or are they just for sound??

Exhaust will free up a little hp but not enough to really notice. Just makes the truck sound good for the most part. Mufflex that is, a complete exhaust overhaul with freeflow cats no resonators and y pipe or straight dual would produce the most hp and better sound but not really worth the $ in my opinion. I have done it both ways, I am happy with the mufflex.

it sounds good!
its not as loud as I thought it would be, might like a 14" better but we'll see how this does after some miles.
