Why is it on your bed?

You don't sleep with your truck parts like the rest of us? There is something wrong with you. I've had a cam under my pillow for the past year, before that it was a roll pan. My wife still doesn't understand, lol.

You could prolly run your 5" back to a split 3" and maybe not have to pull your tire.

Agreed dual 3 will flow better than a 5 and you probably could keep the spare

Smaller exhaust will make EGTs go up. Flow really isn't that much of an issue with diesel. There's no dealing with having to compensate for back pressure sine the turba' is there.

Hahaha, I've learned that sometimes waiting is the best benefit of moding. This bumper was free and so will be the color matching by a professional painter. The exhaust work with tips is only going to cost me $300. All because I just waited for the best opportunity.

I understand the no need for back pressure with the turbo, but I don't understand how splitting 1 5in into 2 3in will cause egt's to go up. With dual 3 in over single 5 will have more room for the exhaust to flow. Now I'm assuming you are going to split a 5 into dual 5 I just don't see the benifit from that sense the first 75% of the exhaust will be single 5 in. Im just trying to understand not be rude. I like being able to understand for future knowledge.

I don't agree with an increase in EGTs. However, flow is limited largely not by the size of pipe, but by the drag along the surface of the pipe.

A 5" pipe has a circumference of 31.42" where dual 3" would have 37.70"
So there would be more 'drag' as the exhaust tries to flow through the dual 3"s

That being said, I don't think it'd have ANY ill effect on EGTs

Here is my factory exhaust it comes out of the muffler in dual form. There is enough room to do dual 3 in under the 1500.

Sorry that picture is upside down.

Here's these pics might help some ImageUploadedByTapatalk1399937302.927275.jpg

I'm not wanting to keep my spare at all. I took it out at 20K to check psi and give it a nice shine. It was already toast with burnt marks all over and bulges in the sidewall. So trying to fit a spare would give me no benefit anyways since all the heat around it would burn it.
