Getting ready to order some new stacks ... Aussie 6" but having trouble with one thing ?

The stack is 6" my exhaust is 5"

I need to get a adapter but dont know or understand the ID and OD thing ?

Do I need

Exhaust Adapter 5" OD to 6" ID Aluminized

The little part goes in the 5" exhaust and the bigger end accepts a 6" pipe ?

Yes, a 5" OD pipe will slide into a 5"ID pipe, and your new stack will slide into the other side.

You may want to measure your current setup so you know if the pipe is 5" ID or OD. If its 5"OD it won't work, but if its slightly smaller you should be fine.

Uhh...stick a tape to the top of the stack and see if they are 5" OD or ID. They should be ID, meaning the OD diameter should be just a tad bit larger.

They're 5"OD...so that adapter should be fine.

So the adapter you are buying is 5" OD, just like what you have there, as in it will slide down over like the stack does there. Then the new stack will be 6" OD and slide down over the adapter which is 6" ID.

Had to look really close at that pic to see that. Ok if that slides in, then yeah the 5" will slide in, the 6" will slide into that.

Wow this got confusing quick.

So the smaller end will slide IN the exhaust (like the stacks do now) and the new 6" stacks will slide into the adapter ?
