Hey Guys,
I just picked up a 2012 Ram 1500 big horn last week and well... I'm already thinking of ways to improve it. The only thing I am not willing to do is an exhaust, local cops really crack down on it. I also want to know is it worth it to run 91 in the truck? Any help is appreciated.
Thank you.

91 octane, need to tune it for it or its a waste of money. You need to move air through the engine, intake and exhaust. That's the beginning of improving performance.

Absolutely yes 91 octane is worth it. The hemi in particular really likes the better fuel. You can still do the exhaust. They make high flow mufflers that are pretty quiet. My rule of thumb, if it's not louder than a Harley there's absolutely no reason to be pulled over just for the exhaust.

1) Tuner with custom tune (Hemifever, Jay Greene, etc.)

2) Intake

3) Mufflex makes a 24" muffler that is much better flowing but still quiet so cops won't give you any issues

4) Contact Matt at Moe's Performance. He has everything you need

Gears are the number 1 performance gain. Followed by a tune. Then intake and exhaust with or without headers.

What gears did you get stock? 3.5s or the 3.9s?

3.92 is a good gear, so I wouldnt worry about changing those out. I would start off with a Diablo tuner w/ Hemifever custom tuning. That is going to be the single best bang for buck mod you can buy.

Well I decided to start with a Catch Can since I do drive hard and would like to have that just in case. I'm going to add a cold air intake next, just having a friend who works at O'Reillys check on his employee pricing for me. I will say a tune and a high flow muffler will be in the near future but can't afford at the moment.

CAI gains are nothing compared to a tune.
