Idle shut down

Today I took the truck in to the dealership to program an automatic idle shutdown.

To my surprise they had never done it before. After one hour of work they got it to work.

it is quite a nice feature when you stop for a quick lunch stop.


IDLE SHUTDOWN
This feature can be enabled so that the truck will
automatically shutdown when the truck has been
idling for a set period of time when the engine is at
operating temperature. Idle time can be set in
5 minute increments between 5 and 60 minutes.
See an authorized dealer to enable this feature.
NOTE:
The idle shutdown timer is disabled while the
PTO is active.

Have had the possibility to try out the auto idle shutdown.

It is a nice feature when you make a fast lunch stop and engine oil temps are high.

The negatives are that the idle shutdown only turn of the engine.
head lights, fan and 12” Display was still on when I returned after lunch. (They where on when I left the truck)

So turn of everything except the engine before you leave the truck.

Another negative is that the engine will turn of after (in my case 5 minutes) idling. Have not found a way to temporally disable the function.
