Thank you for posting. Pretty much somes up my thoughts also, only thing I wish I could have in my 2014 Tradesman 2500 would be the larger screen. The little 5” is better than nothing but as I get older, I would’ve liked the bigger screen.

Now that the tradesman is offered with the 8.4 as an option I am tempted. Its got a better interior than my 08 big horn lol.

Consider Amp Research when time to get running boards. They are smooth and sturdy.

I totally agree. I have a 2019 2500 as well and have put on 12000 kms and absolutley love it. I also have owned 14 Fords over the past 20 years and even had a Raptor. I have also owned a Power Wagon 2018 and I must say RAM has my vote in a truck over Ford and would not even talk about a chev

Oh I have the Laramie package on mine

...interesting that so many have trouble finding HDs with the 4.10s... when I bought my '16 Tradesman, everything they had in stock had the 4.10s... so whomever did their ordering (Ram of the West, Lancaster, CA) did it RIGHT!

I wanted 3.73 but the truck I liked best had 4.10 so I bought it. I'm happy with it pulling 7500lb TT. Now moving up to a 12,000 lb 5th wheel. Glad I got the 4.10 gears.

There's a big difference between the 6-speed in the '16 and the 8-speed in the '19. The 8 speed deals with lower axle ratio much better (due to the extra gears).

Re: 4.10s...maybe they figure us North Texans don't need 'em here since we don't have any mountains (or even threatening hills)! They're practically non-existent among Dallas-Fort Worth dealers.

Thanks for posting this review. I'm just finishing up a purchase for a 2019 2500 laramie 6.4. My dealer let me take one home for a few days and I totally love it. I should be the owner tomorrow just in time for winter. Running boards are a must. Way higher truck than my old 1500.ce6814195d768dfc082947a9157ea6c3.jpeg

Greetings Rammers,
I'm brand new to your forum as I am in the market for a 3/4T truck to replace my 2012 Silverado 1500 (don't hate me).

My thanks to Snowmiser for this timely post (for me) as it is really helpful as I consider different trucks.

Always been a Chevy guy but realize they are not top of the heap. I recently had a Cherokee Latitiude for a company vehicle and I was really impressed with the ride, mileage, features and overall value with that little car.

Most of my colleagues (construction background) are either Ford or Ram so I am looking a both. Seems like Ram is the deal and I hope to pick up a 2019 deal as they are cleared out for the new stock. I don't want the diesel and it sounds like the Hemi is plenty of motor.

I pull a boat occasionally and considering a slide in camper in the future - reason for looking for a heavier duty rig.

So, thanks again for the post and look forward to reading the many others that may help me decide. I've learned to read forums from actual owners on issues that may be part of the brand/model

If you are looking to get a cab over camper, get a 1 ton. They tend to be a little in the heavy side. Just my 2 cents.

^ I agree. You are going to get too much body roll with a slide in cab over on a 2500. You will be much happier with a 3500.

I have a 2016 2500 Laramie CC/LB w/6.7L IL-6CTD. When I bought my truck I wanted a Power Wagon. But I wanted the 8ft bed and a Cummins Diesel. No go. So I bought the 2wd 2500 Laramie w/IL-6 CTD. I love it and I have no regrets about not getting he Power Wagon. Congrats on your new ride.
