factory gaskets can be reused many times. spray off any mud or dirt before removing the cover or dirt will get onto the gears. the manual does say use blueloctite. ive had the covers off several times and never go past 25ftlb on the bolts as theyre m8x1.25. do crisscross pattern like lugnuts

Good thread. This is my first Ram 3/4 ton, so I'm still learning. 2 things surprise me about this topic, after owning only GM and Ford 3/4ton's before this. First is the change interval on the differentials being only 30K miles if you tow. Second is no drain plug on the cover or axle? Really? Oh well, at least I'm aware of it now and will plan to do it at 30K. Might check into covers with drain plugs, though.
