Hi all!
I just purchased a really clean extremely well maintained 2014 Ram tradesman RCSB. Has the 5.7 with 8speed. 2x4.
Truck is absolutely immaculate!
Only 40k miles!
Car fax is over 6 pages of dealer maintenance.
Anyway. I love the truck. But have one huge issue.
2nd owner of the truck (I’m the 3rd) must’ve had an issue with the factory head unit. Because the dealer installed a cheap, no name single din cd player type head unit.
Heres the issue.
The guy was Spanish speaking. And had all the information display changed to Spanish.
Unfortunately, I do not speak Spanish. So I want to change it to English.
Can this be done with the existing radio at the dealership?
Or am I going to have to get an aftermarket unit that’s programmable to all the trucks features like steering wheel controls (which work, except phone)?
I am looking into getting a touch screen unit to replace the existing one. I’m 57. So the latest loudest unit on the block is of little interest. Also, I prefer to throw my money into suspension and engine performance than music. So an inexpensive. Decent unit is all that’s required. I was actually looking into the AWESAFE unit. I know it’s cheap China crap. But as long as it plays my Pandora and Spotify, has a map. And can accept an amp with one subwoofer. I’m good.
Any suggestions on the display
And type of head unit?
Sorry so long winded. Just wanted to be as accurate as possible.

I’m not familiar with the AWESAFE unit, but I assume it’s one of the android setups. I’m using the Junsun unit from Amazon, and it has been working fine for me. All controls are maintained as well.

hello. i have the 14 express that i have been adding to almost every chance i get. My reasoning for starting project was large back up screen after back surgery. the first radio i had put in was a cheapo single din that had almost the same problem, mine was Japanese. i disconnected the power to the head unit over night, and it fixed itself after power reinstated. the unit went through basic user setup again and was in english. i have since changed just about everything else in the truck. Friend of mine told me also, sometimes you can find the translated menu options online. I went with a 15.6in tesla style linkswell head unit and alphaobd. I went that route because when i add things like the digital instrument cluster, multiple cameras, and the interior from the limited, having the ability to program, monitor and tune right there was a big plus.
