What's the center on center measurement for the holes in the brackets you made? I'm going to fab up some brackets.
Thanks!

Looks great BTW!

Just installed this today. The way I mounted it was simple. Piece of flat steel from one bumper mount bolt to the light bar bracket.
Do you ever get harassed about no front license plate here in Alaska? I want to do this, but my front license plate would have to be removed and I'll have to plug & paint the holes they made to install the plate mount.

I think you can just flip the plate holder 180degrees. That puts the plate a bit higher and clears the gap for the bar to fit.

I think if you flip it might not look good. Is there any other bracket you could do or has anyone figured out how to move the plate up without drilling new holes?

I've not been harassed for no front plate in Alaska since the Anchorage Parking authority was disbanded (though I have mine mounted, lol). Might be an excuse to get pulled over if they were looking for a reason though. I've seen people put the front plate on their dash.

I think that is so tacky and ugly. I would go no plate and take the tickets over putting it on my dash.

Agreed, though I think it was a $65 dollar ticket if I remember correctly.

Hey guys awesome pics and cool mod, I have not done a whole lot of mods on my new 2014 ram sport. But I do have a question, I see that your all putting 42" in the bumper, however the opening is like 47". Just wondering the reason for that, mounting reasons or just personal preference? I have been looking at bars on ebay and don't want to get something that wont fit in the opening. Although I do like the 50" option under the bumper as well.

Thanks in advance for the help..

Anyone done a straight bar? Ordered a curved, they sent me a straight...debating on giving it a shot rather than dealing with shipping it back and waiting for another

I think if you do the straight you'll just end up wishing you had returned and gotten the curved instead. I'm sure straight would look good too but the curved follows the bumper so well and just fits perfectly.

After reading this whole thread it sounds like there's no specific ebay brand/model of light bar.

I'm planning on going the ebay route for mine...should I just go with a bar with overall good reviews?

How long is the light bar, because I think that is the key to your need fr curved vs. straight. The shorter light bars (30") do not need the curve like the longer (50") ones. A 50" looks a little weird if it doesn't contour the bumper.

Are you putting it on the bottom of the bumper or behind the grille?

Hey all, I have a question that hopefully someone one here has ran into or knows the answer to. I am a guy that thinks he is a master electician, but im not.. With that being said, I bought the light bar that BlownGP posted on page 17 off of ebay, and the brackets from Turblown03. The light bar looks great on the truck. The issue that I am running into is the wiring harness that comes with the light bar. It is the same one on the ebay page from page 17 of this thread. I understand that you take the red/black wires from the light bar, and connect them into the red/black that has the "weather proof" jacket. From there is where im not getting it. The relay for this harness has two sets of red/black wires coming out of it with a fifth white wire. A set of the red/black wires has a short black wire that im guessing goes to the negative terminal of the battery, and the red has a in line fuse that im guessing goes to the positive terminal? The other set of red/black also has the white coming out of the relay, and has a connection that goes to the switch. This is where I think I am lost. When I take the second red and hook it to the battery the light bar is able to turn on/off. Thats cool but my battery was not charging at all and my truck started to loose its mind. Is the way I hooked it up keeping a constant pull on the battery and thats why my battery eventually lost enough so that my truck wouldnt start and I had to get a jump? I know that a lot of guys are obliviously doing this so where am I going wrong? Is the light bar pulling to much power where that alternator cant keep the battery charged? Im sure its just my lack of wiring knowledge but any info would help.

I mounted my 31" straight bar from my '12 onto this truck. I fabbed some aluminum brackets myself and turned out well. Now someone wants to buy it which might give me excuse to buy a 42" curved lol
