Fixed it, well in regard to the airbag light, so the 510kmh doesn't appear to be an issue for me at least. the fix was I had to change the "Vehicle Configuration Programmed Status" to yes. I do still have a fault code in the bcm for the humidity sensor though.
What code?

no but just went in and that is already set to yes.
On mine, that was defaulted to "no". When I turn it on I get that code. As far as I know, the sensor will work without that setting on.

I am starting to believe that the humidity code is for a bad sensor and has been that way for years, digging through pics of scans I've done in the past, so unrelated. I got the uc5 radio and 12.1 screen hooked up now after programming and the screen nor buttons nothing turns on, check radio fault codes and none in there, so currently trying to figure this out. Screen worked seller verified with pictures so unless it got damaged in shipping or something else, I will be diagnosing.

I'll get into details on the screen with you later (at work presently) but did your truck come with factory ATC? If not turn that humidity sensor setting mentioned earlier to "no". That'll clear the code and have no effect on ATC or MTC.

Got it working found that the hvac conversion harness purchased was not correct. Wireless aa, acp work, built in tomtom nav works, factory 4th gen backup camera works without any programming or wiring changes (that was a surprise), on screen hvac only controls the on/off and temp BUT the degrees is in celcius, no onscreen heated seats, ventilated seats or heated steering wheel work (all stock in my truck same as dual auto climate by the way). The physical side buttons for climate do not work either. I have read and read and reread multiple forums so crossed eyed, is this to be expected and requires more programming, wiring or devices to function?

Oh Uconnect 5! Didn't know you were working that angle but I'm definitely happy to help! Is that the 14.5" screen?

The side buttons not working is expected in a 4th Gen. To be clear, this is a 4th gen yes?

yes, 2015 with 2016 bcm. No solutions? It has been sitting for awhile now, just went and played with it again and when pushing the fan up speed button it displays the fan speed bar but doesnt actually change the speed so it at least recognizes they exist just not working... the heated/vent seats & heated steering wheel are still greyed out. I have seen mention of someone stating a member has a "magic box" to translate the bcm messages/codes, but cannot find that post, if you know of them please connect us as I will purchase one!

You have to have a CANBUS translator device sitting between the screen and the HVAC module to make the OEM 5th gen buttons work. My experiment was to delete the buttons entirely and use the 8.4" bezel's buttons to give it a slimmer profile and require less modifications. That setup works and may be worth testing with your UConnect 5 to see if that's the route you want to take or if the UConnect 5 needs a different HVAC module entirely to work. I don't think it needs a new HVAC module, but those side buttons will never work without aftermarket CANBUS translation.

Well need to find me someone who makes a translator, I have been tempted to pull the trigger on this bench test emulator off ebay, wonder if this can be configured to be the solution... https://www.ebay.com/itm/145787467533 or even this one https://www.ebay.com/itm/1459061864...Q5XH9H&hash=item21f8afb8ed:g:-98AAOSwRtZmnyNt

UPDATE: The uconnect 5 wireless aa/acp (22-24) 12.1" out of a 2022 ram 1500 works in the 4th gen (2015 for me), everything works without issue with the exception of only the 6 driver and 6 passenger side hvac climate control physical buttons. All other physical buttons and dials work as they should, all lights and screen dimming work as they should, the on screen climate controls work fully and even light up the side physical buttons like the ac amber light illuminates even though the button itself doesnt do anything. All wireless android auto, apple carplay, bluetooth etc work. The dash cluster populates as it should even with turn by turn instructions from the new uc5 tomtom software. The reverse factory camera works as it should, all the truck settings work as they should. The trailer brake works and other physical buttons from the 5th gen module work (although just as others reported the traction light stays lit even when off but has no known affect). All in all I am happy with it and can live without those physical side climate control buttons not working to then hack up a donor 4th gen dash panel to retrofit this in. The only 5th gen parts used is the 12 screen unit, disassociated version radio module and lower switch bank along with a 5th gen 4c to uc5 wire harness adapter kit which then had to repin only the hvac to screen harness. Only other parts needed for me particularly to execute was a 2016 bcm as I have a 2015 so required that, but if you have a 2016 or newer then that part is not needed. Then only programming besides the bcm swap was the two car config changes: "cabin net- display screen module” changed to enable and "cabin Net: ICS Integrated Center Stack" changed to not enabled. I may look into the 10.1" screen uc5 version to mold into the dash as I have that one in my 2025 durango and is a perfect size imo feels way bigger than the 8.4 which the 12.1" is essentially a double stacked 8.4 so with the 10.1 the width is the advantage. Only other aspect I am currently still working out is the factory cargo camera is not showing up, I have the kaotech harness kit being a 1500, but Ill mess around with the pinout. And to clarify on the factory reverse camera working that is no programming no new wires or camera, it is the factory 4th gen stock. I may mess around and get a cvpm as I do have custom side mirrors with cameras in them already but thats for another day and project.

Glad you had success with this. It's been on my bucket list for a while now, but with the wife driving my ram more often now i got worried about it not working perfectly and having to hear about it. I can 100% sell her on just using the onscreen climate control though. Before i go search ebay for a few hours i wanted to just confrim some stuff im not sure i understood, you said the only parts you used was "12 screen unit, disassociated version radio module and lower switch bank along with a 5th gen 4c to uc5 wire harness adapter kit" so this means the normal 5th gen switches actually work on our 4th gens? also you mentioned having to repin the adapater harness what specifically had to be repinned? i have a 2017 so i should be alright on the bcm, i kept seeing those 10 inch ones and wondered if they work because I'm also with you on those looking better. Pissed i trashed my spare radio surround thinking i was never actually going to commit to this project.

Yes the lower switches work on the 4th gen, just be sure to match up all the buttons besides the heated seats, heated steering wheel and vented seats. I have those features and on 5th gens that is all on screen only no physical buttons for those. The harness kit i used was off ebay, has been mentioned on forums as being reliable and you will have to swap some wires around on the hvac adapter harness only, believe it was this thread or another that has the pinout, but Ill throw it up when I get a chance. Here is the harness kit, really only need the main adapter, 5c screen cable (it is different than the 4c), usb adapter and gps/xm adapter. the smaller split fakra adapter is not used on the 5c. https://www.ebay.com/itm/144901324730

Few pics, got it mounted in. I repined the cargo camera from 24,25,26 to 21,22,23 but the radio is still not recognizing it at all, so other than that everything is working besides the climate physical buttons. I did notice that for my heated seats, heated steering wheel and vented seats the on-screen controls are greyed out/inactive when the engine is not running, this was not the case with the UAQ, UAS, VP3 or VP4. Not a big deal but did like to have those running even when engine off so I will just have to get used to that. It is not a perfect look fit wise by any means, very crude but the tradeoff surpasses that by a mile.

I will also say very disappointed in the android auto display as it is tiny even smaller than on the 8.4 UAQ or newer. I have the 10.1 screen in my Durango and aa is full screen, so that may sway me to swap out as I have both android for personal and an apple for work which I use android auto primarily over CarPlay for a much better navigation experience driving half the country for work all the time. I point that out, because it is very noticeable how small aa is on this. Apple carplay is full screen and you can have both phones connected at the same time and quickly toggle between the two.

If you tap the map in AA it should go half screen. You can make the display a little better with AAWireless to control DPI and noble the icon bar to the left instead of the bottom of the screen.
