If you mean reflash the XAC Sales code , that has nothing to do with grid lines at all .
To my knowledge the gridlines options are just in the radio or not .

What Parkview settings do you have ?
What year is your RA4 radio ?
Is your radio a factory install ?
RA4A (NON NAV)or RA4AN (NAV)

I have the camera delay option, that's it. And it is. 2013 truck, the radio was replaced this year after the update that killed a bunch of radios was done, and is an RA4A

If you have an ra4, i think one of the last sw updates removed the option to turn the grid lines on and off. (No sw updates to the ra2 in a year so it's still there)

I will have to check mine when I get back to the truck in the morning.

PS: I have a 2014 RA4 with the latest 'Siri' sw update v16.13.13 (2013 SLT w/RA2 originally)

Same radio, same sw version. one has option to turn grid lines on/off, one doesn't.

Well the ram mysteries continue.

Did you ever have that option on yours? I had the newest software update on it then got my backup cam added like a month or two ago so don't know if thats a factor because the code was added after latest update?

Honestly I don't recall since I never checked after switching to the ra4.
(My RA2 had the option)

If you figure it out, I'd love to know! I don't mind having the lines, just think it would be cool to be able turn them off!

I'm sure this has been covered and I've looked at RLKs pics of this on post 290, but does anyone have a closer pic of the wire on the PDC that you splice into? I'm at that point in the install and I THINK I have the right pink/yellow wire but it has 12V whenever the key is on not just when it's in reverse.

Don't know if it makes a difference but I haven't had the XAC flash yet, won't get that flashed until 1 on Saturday.

Here's a pic:

I think 70Chall440 may have posted some pictures also within the first 2-4 pages of posts.

I'm pulling a diagram of the PDC C7 connector now that I hope will help.
(will edit this post shortly)

You can also pull out fuse #95 and ohm it to the wire. Also, if you look closely you should see numbers imbossed on the connector for pins 1, 21 & 22 (maybe) and 42.

EDIT:
Re-read your post, look at the schematic in post 10 and you will see that 12v is there whenever the key is ON or ACC. The Lin Bus CBC3 signal (pin 45 at BCM) is what turns the camera on/off for reverse.

THANK YOU Mpgrimm2 this is exactly what I needed!! I'm positive I have the right wire now:happy107:

One other question, is there any chance of damage by hooking this up before its flashed?

Again thanks!

Nope. Not as long as you verify/recheck what you are doing. Especially at the **back of the radio**, New harness connector under the dash, and pdc like you are doing (common mistake areas).

Just make sure you use and read the notes linked in post 10.

Also note that you should have turning grid lines after the flash with the OEM kit. If you don't, check the BCM pin 45 splice.

Many have hooked it up before the flash.

Thanks! Yes I've been using post 10 (GREAT POST!!) extensively when doing the under dash connector and behind the radio. Behind the radio I thought I was doing it correctly (per the instructions) and it turned out I had it backwards after looking at one of the pics off of post 10 and reading the incredibly small numbers on the connector itself. On my connector pins 31, 32, and 33 were empty so I just inserted the pins.

Thank you! I will admit, I'm super nervous with anything electrical related when it comes to cars like I'm going to short the BCM or my RA3 out or something so I really appreciate Mpgrimm2 and your help. I'll post on Saturday that I (hopefully) finally have a backup camera

Good luck , I installed my complete kit prior to the XAC flash as well , no worries at all !
You should be fine so long as you double checked everything .

A simple and fast way to verify the connector you populated under the dash . Just verify the 3ea wires by color going to the radio line up with the same color wires you populated into the other side . Those 3 are the only wires being used , the others are just terminated there @ that connector because they are not used for the radio display of the backup camera , you could literally just cut them off if you wanted .
