In New York the EXcuses are inflation pretty much and people getting into more accidents in the winter, in NY I guess we gotta pay for others when they get into accidents and the good driver doesn’t.

Well, as sad as that is, it is again the gamble that we take and have to pay for.

I made no mention of home and toys, as that is another matter/part of the higher cost of living that "it is what it is" ... lol.

I love people who think well the worst is past us no way it could get worse, lmbo? People who are not paying attention the inflation is continueing, no we aren't past it. Expect these increases every year until the gov't stops spending money it doesnt have. It simply isnt personal, it is business, and as long as they spend, you will pay, simple equation. Government Spends with no increased taxes or other revenue = citizens pay more for everything as long as they spend. You guys know your gov't already said they are raising interests rates again right? So question, take a wild guess what that means? If you said I will pay more for everything, including insurance, guess what, you are correct, if you said anything else, you are wrong. The relationship is linear and w/o feeling. To be 100% honest, I was glad my insurance only went up 20% which was that 300 bucks a year. I felt lucky, I was expecting it to be more.

What jhoward said, it is what it is.

I went to Progressive from Farmers a few years ago and it went down a lot. Farmers and a lot of the other older companies seem to think you'll just stick with them since you've been with them forever.

I tried talking to my provider about how I drive 2000 miles a year on one vehicle and my wife works from home and doesn’t drive really and was pretty much told we don’t care, same with State Farm, didn’t care. It sucks.

Many insurance carriers provide a discount for low annual mileage usage. What provider are you using?

Some people don’t realize it - but auto and home owner (and renter) insurance policy costs are partially based upon the policy holder(s) credit score.
Mine is in the very good range 790 to 8Xx

Because my Ram is used both for business & pleasure

My insurance rates should make you all sigh, because it makes me cry

Both the Federal & State Governments, say that i must have a minimum of $750,000 a year insurance on my Ram.
If i plan to work in New Mexico, Colorado, Pennsylvania & Virginia, i would need a $1,000,000 policy.

I have $2,500 deductible
Progressive is the insurance carrier
If i worked 3 or 4 days a week, i would have to work 4 months just to pay the insurance & the fuel i use

I suspect that i pay for all those stupid TV ads that Progressive broadcasts

Well, maybe it's just time for another change? .... find an insurance that meets you needs, price wise ... maybe, if you can find an insurance company out of your state that has a license to do business in your state, that might save you some money, just throwing that out there, Idk.

Example, my motorbike is insured through a company in Wisconsin, full coverage insurance, cheaper than what insurance companies in my fantastic state would cost ... but, then again that's an motorbike and not a car or truck, Idk ...

Allstate is hot garbage, especially on auto policies. I've never had them, but dealt with them a bunch when I was still a uniformed cop taking crash reports. They are easily the worst to deal with for both parties. My neighbor has them on a house policy, a storm bought a tree down on his carport. They told him carports depreciate so they only want to give him $500. It cost him $1400 to put up over a decade ago, $4k to replace now. How, exactly, did a steel structure depreciate when replacement costs more than doubled?

Farm Bureau isn't bad as far as paying, but they'll drop you quick if they think you're a bad bet after a claim.

USAA used to be phenomenal, now they are ok-ish.

Geico is pretty good to work with, and who I use.

Progressive is decent, I think.

Yep, I agree ... Allstate Insurance is a joke.

Used them once for homeowners/vehicles insurance, complete waste of money.

State Farm ain't much better.

My insurance was much better but both my wife and I have had accidents in the last 2 years. If we have another year with no accidents it should come back down some.

I had allstate and loved them. When I got married she had aaa now csaa, and I had allstate, I was sure when we priced them mine would win. LOL, that is what my ******** gets fa thinking. AAA was nearly 1/2 the cost for the same high coverages, no joke. Never looked back, later on I found that to be true allstate is higher, maybe magnified because at that time we were younger, not the sweet spot like we are in now late 50's. Point is, no reason to be loyal to an insurance company, shop around, as long as they are name brand, you will be safe. Put in the work, especially these days. Those safe driver discounts are a joke as well, especially when with safe driver your price is still much more then companies like aaa, they don't give "discounts" for safe driving, but they will raise the rates if you get in an accident or abuse your home owners policy.

Use to have Liberty Mutual for 12 years until I noticed how much they raised prices aka screwed me, I went to Progressive, I now have better coverage and pay a heck of a lot less, in Feb my rate for my 22 2500 CTD 4x4 went up to $563.00 for six months, I have 500K/500K 250 deductible with $50 day rental coverage, the wife's 21 Highlander with same coverage as my truck cost me $390.00 per six months...

I have Travelers through a brokerage I have been with since I was 20ish years old. The broker is awesome, my insurance rep calls me every year without me asking and re-does my rates through multiple places. Been with Progressive, allstate, Ameriprise and a couple others I can't remember at the moment.
I pay annually to get a bit of a break so last year was about $1200. This year, over $1500. Get discounts for garage kept, low mileage useage and a few other things.
Really sucks! Thought getting older would lower my premiums, guess not!

Short story, my sister was involved in an accident years ago, rear ended at a stop light. She had progressive and they had progressive. Damn near had to sue them to get insurance to do the right thing. I dropped Progressive years ago when I sold my motorcycle (no complaints just sold my bikes) but, to this day I still get half a dozen progressive advertisements in the mail every single month! If they were cheaper I'd go back, no other complaints for me, just an anecdotal experience from someone I know well.

Insurance sucks in general! I know I am giving up some money going with a broker but I am not filling out 10 applications and having my credit ran 10 times. A couple times in the past I have thought of leaving my brokerage and trying it on my own. Never again! I'd rather bang my head against the wall over getting quotes from insurance companies.

Geico did my buddy wrong twice so far, last auto claim I don’t know how they didn’t total out his truck being a 2016 ram damage was close to value, they made him get a used truck bed and cut it in half to use the good side. In Western NY we had the very heavy snow here and it did some ceiling damage to my home, got connected to a call center in North Carolina where the lady proceeded to tell me snow damage is not covered on home owners in NY!!! That was straightened out but had the fight hard for every dollar needed to get back to normal. I had a few claims in the past a while ago while younger and Allstate never dropped me, but they see I pay on time for the last 14 years
