Truck is in the shop right now and guy says the short runner flap on the inside might be going bad.

Last time I had the intake off I cleaned the hell out it. I was able to turn the flap with pliers but not with fingers. Not sure how easy it's supposed to be.

Is the 6.4 a direct bolt on in place of the 5.7. I feel like I have read on here of people doing the swap.

Reason for this is I have the p1004 code and have already changed the actuator and it still has the code. Here and there if I keep the truck off the highway the code will go away then on an on ramp it will come back on.

I was thinking it was that one. A bit more than I want to spend right now. Thanks for the link.

Is it possible for the flap in there to go bad.

I'm Going to say yes, never dealt with that myself but seeing as it's parts in motion things wear out and eventually quit working. Should be able to get a 5.7 wrecker intake pretty cheap.

[emoji1787][emoji1787] Waiting for a call back. Just had to get the logistics figured out. Turns out $550 shipping is the least of my worries. But I mean that 6.4l would look a whole lot sexier being delivered in the little red shortbox. [emoji48] Spent alot of money in 4 days that's for sure! Should be a nice power bump with less problems. I swear I got a Friday truck.

Considering it's about 26 hours up to you,i'll have to pass this time around, lol. I was wondering if you were going to drive down and pick it up,lol. Talk to Darcy about getting it drop shipped to you,if it's paid for,it shouldn't matter where the shipping company drops it,and if it's coming out of Michigan anyways what's another days drive for the shipping company

Yeah it's a long drive. I thought about coming down for it but my luck that's when hemi decides to kick the bucket. My diesel is boxed and snowed in by trailers or if be on my way in that. Dropshipping is a no go in that department for some reason.

I found a stock manifold with rails and injectors on Ebay for 350. ******* says it came off a low mile vehicle. Would it be worth it over buying new

I'd go for it. That or you can buy the runner blocker online and tune out the short runner valve so u have long runner all the time.

I'm a strong Beleiver in you can never have too many spare parts tho. Injectors and rails are handy to have around.

You've probably ordered already but if not I only paid 375 for my ported 6.4l Intake manifold from mmx. It was dressed with injectors, sensor, fuel rails, gaskets, hardware. Etc I had a $600 core return but that just sat on the card till I core returned.

I asked them what all needed to come back, and although I didn't get the answer I hoped for (me keeping everything but the intake) the kindly told me to use whatever I needed to get my build up and running and send the rest back.

$975 for fully dressed, ported 6.4l intake manifold
$600 core return.

AND delivery said like 4 to 6 week lead time. I ordered it anyway, had it before Friday. Can't happen everytime I'm sure but if they can they do! I was giddy to say the least.
