Just picked up my 2015 Laramie 2500 Cummins from detailing, as I’m driving home I noticed the interior lights are on…both on the overhead and the rear light over the back seat… none are responding to turning them off. The front seat lights are push button and do not turn off, not sure if there’s an independent switch for the rear light…what am I missing???
Always the simple stuff that tweaks me

Try the dimmer switch by your headlight knob.

Tried that first, no effect…on the upside, they all turn off when the truck is shut down, but come back on when the truck is running

Update…now the push button overhead lights are responding correctly, but the rear light over the rear passenger seat still wants to remain on when the truck is running.

Perhaps the detailers hit a wire while doing your interior? If the front lights operate correctly now after driving, I'd say it's a wiring issue. Go hit some big ol' potholes and see if that fixes your backseat lights. IDK. ‍

On my 5th gen 1500 you can manually turn on th rear overhead light by pushing on it. Try pushing on it to see if it turns off.
After rethinking it, I’m going to start the truck up and get in the backseat close the door then try pushing the rear light…fingers crossed

If pushing the lens does not work maybe the door switch is stuck ?
I am curious :)

OK, here’s the dealio…this morning now the rear dome light is back to normal. These trucks have some WERD idiosyncrasies…every once in a while my auto window controls spaz out…there supposed to be auto either raising the windows up with just a short touch or down with a short touch…once in awhile the down function works, but the up doesn’t, have to raise by continuous up pressure on the window switch…next morning it’ll work fine. This is the first time the inside dome lights have spazed out…apparently the trucks computer resets after being shut down overnight…WERD.
Things were so much simpler before computers in vehicles.
Thanks to everyone for your responses

The video above uses down and hold for 5 seconds, followed by up and hold for 5 seconds to recalibrate.

The thread below uses 3-second hold times with many reported success stories.
