87 Ramcharger, one owner, 456,000 miles, 5.2 with no start on 1st crank when hot and truck sitting for 10 minutes; after waiting 20 minutes, started immediately; ran wire from +coil to +battery and started immediately; replaced ignition starter switch (badly burned G-3 terminal). NOW no start when left hot for 10 minutes but 2nd crank usually starts immediately(but took 5 separate cranks today so problem worsening); always starts 1st crank when cold. Replaced ignition starter switch, ballast resistor, coil, Engine Control Module to no effect. Ignition switch and starter relay are original. Ideas?

BTW, to add to the info above, pick-up coil replaced a few years ago but distributor is factory original (altho w/new cap and rotor).

To further add to the above, there are no running, acceleration or misfire issues at all with the 318 engine, a reman installed 18 months ago.
