The reason I ask. Are their springs rated for more weight? I took my first road trip in my 19 classic 4x4 last week. We were in the mountains on a highway with curves. The front end sure rolls in corners. Especially on a down hill corner. It reminded me of driving a worn out 1972 Cadillac. I would like stiffer front coils.

Thanks

The diesel is a bit heavier than the Hemi or Pentastar.

Can’t remember the exact weights off the top of my head

You’ll notice the GVWR is 6950 lbs on all the diesels, gassers Max out @ 6900. Diesel payload is also lower on any comparably equipped gas model.

Well something on upfront weighs more........the payload is lower, GVWR is higher?!

Not to mention looking at a Bilstein 6112, set on the same rung, the lift heights are different..........

The intercooler is not THAT heavy.

Ecodiesel and hemi are the same weight, ~500lbs, per http://www.cumminshub.com.

The actual engine (Hemi/EcoDiesel) may be similar in weight, but depending on the vehicle configuration the front base weight is about 150-200 lbs heavier for the EcoDiesel. Front base weight gives a better real world weight balance of the vehicle.

I guess I forgot to say something. My truck is a gas model. what I wondered is if the Diesel springs are stiffer. So I could get a set to put on my gasser.

thanks

There is no upgraded suspension components when buying the diesel, unless you get the rebel in 2020

If you’re running stock SRAs get rid of them and go to an LT tire, ride will stiffen up.

Yup lol. I remember on my 2008 with LT tires it felt like a fork lift

I had the same issue with my 16 Hemi when I bought it. My fix was inflating stock tires to 41 lbs. Fixed the handling issue, but tires wore out at 25000 miles.

I'm running Bilsteins at 2.1 and E rated Nittos and still feel like the front end is too soft for my liking.
