Is this a Tire I should replace ASAP

Hi All,
New truck, 800 miles on it.
Noticed the rear passenger tire has this on it today while adjusting the air pressure down.

Does this one need to be replaced ASAP?

Looks like the rubber is gouged all the way to the sidewall lining. If that's not an optical illusion, I wouldn't drive on it.

i'd be curious if you rolled that around so the marks are horizontal if it ended up at bumper height. Any corresponding marks on your fenders?

HOLY!!!! Hope you got 'er whoa'd up in time to avoid other damage. That's a pretty catastrophic failure.

i have seen worse. if your not trailering and its on the rear, i wouldn't say its urgent to replace.

Sorry to disagree. "Seen worse" or not, I think it's poor advice to recommend not getting it looked at.

I'll get it checked out tomorrow. Probably will replace it. Drive around 3 kids in the back..

Overall I really like it. I am impressed that Ram has features like keyless entry, a decent Nav with good Audio options, a nice interior color combo, and the truck drives and rides really well.
The one thing that I can say is that I'm coming from a 2015 M5, and the interior build quality when it comes to fit,fitment, and touch of the parts is shockingly different. I'm okay with ti since I know it's a truck, but if you looked at a 55K 535i, interior materials like the side panels and door panels would never have gotten past quality control.

That being said, I know I'm going to use this for work, and for lots of fun play, so it's probably fine that the materials aren't up to the same level and quality as I can enjoy it more without worrying about messing it up.

I would show it to the dealer and try to get them to replace it!

The dealer's 600 miles away, so probably best bet is to just get it replaced...

Yeah, It looks more like external damage rather than a warranty type failure.

You should be able to go to any dealer. Doesn't have to the one you bought it from

Replace it. A sidewall blowout at speed is very very bad. I had one happen going 100 mph on a German autobahn. The crash felt like it lasted 10 minutes.
