I traded my 09 CC BigHorn with 85,000 hwy miles for a 13 CC BigHorn 3 weeks ago. Recently retired and my commuting days are over so I figured I trade in and start new. Starting to think I might have made a mistake.

Here is a list of some the issues I've had since I bought the truck.

Day 1, FOB doesn't lock or unlock after a minute of the truck being turned off. Salesman unlocked the doors when I test drove so I never noticed how they unlocked the door. Notified them the next day (Saturday) and they said bring it in on Monday because they didn't have a qualified tech in on Saturday. Monday morning, locks work. Been working ever since.

Fenders out of alignment-Fixed

I have a 8.4a and it started cutting on and off, volume doesn't work, screen is locking up. It does it randomly. Took it in and they said that the software was corrupted and I have to wait for an update. Release of the update is unknown.

Not to sure if I like the 6 spd trans or not. It seems like the shift points are to low or mine needs to be checked.

Has anyone else had any of these issues?

Just sucks I know, but first model year after a heavy update is the test case and you 're the monkey going into space.

Good luck Major Tong--ground control out. :emotions122:

Shift points ARE odd. I suspect they are set up for maximum mileage. Mine flops over into 6th gear like a fat kid falling on the playground. I suspect there is a legion of us waiting on a PCM flash to fix a lot of this. [2 cents]

I have to say I agree with the statement about buying the first year of a big update, but (and I'm knocking on wood while typing this!) my wife had to have the new ford fusion with almost all the bells and whistles and so far only problem I've noticed is her phone doesn't imidately connect to the touch screen when she gets back into the car. To me this isn't a big deal because I've ran into this with computers and other headunits I had phones hooked up too.
I do hate how the Uconnect stuff seems like it was really rushed out to production and it pains me that I told my brother to wait a year or two to buy his new ram just so they get this crap figured out. He would've just gotten way to frustrated otherwise with it and probably would've left an otherwise good brand of truck for something else.

I don't think a PCM flash is going to fix your shift points. I assume you have the 6 spd like I do. Only way to keep it out of 6th until you're ready to go overdrive is to set the manual shift to 5, or select tow/haul. That way in manual shift it will be limited to 5th gear or lower and Tow/Haul on will keep it out of ECO/MDS mode.

Or, when the bugs are worked out for the 2013 programs you can buy a tuner and pick your own shift points.

If you have the 8 spd please disregard all of the above, you too are one of the test cases. :hidesbehindsofa:

Hey Casper - actually I think a performance flash will address the shift issues. Or at least move them around some to more of a performance pattern. All of the previous B&G flashes moved the shift points up, etc. I'm not familiar with the other programmers etc. I also feel strongly that torque management is not helping the matter. :)

Just got the tires in today.

Not really sure I agree about the heavy update. My 09 was the first year and the truck was flawless and never let me down.

I have been using the manual shift a lot more since getting it.
