Just on that 8spd. But when the others go 8spd in future bet your ass it’s gone too. Nice trucks though. I’ll keep working on mine haha

Well we already know the 6.4 is great with the 8 speed thanks to the challenger and charger. Wonder if they'll ever give the diesels a higher geared transmission.

I was surprised it was the 8HP75 and not the 95. Wonder what the official torque rating will be in the HD.

Yeah I am not a fan of the rotary dial. We have one in our Durango. I imagine snow plow guys are gonna hate it! Maybe even a deal breaker for them. I am interested to see how the 8 speed holds up. I probably wait a couple years to see & then get me a new one.

I know I won't be trading in anytime soon. Maybe if the offered the 8 speed with the diesel, but I will keep what I got if it is the same trans.

Honestly after using the rotary for a year in my prior 1500 I kind of prefer it to the column shifter on my 2500. Im probably the oddity though as 95% of my cars never had column shifters were mostly manuals in the center.

I'm sure the diesel will get one eventually. It will have to to keep up with the competition. My guess is the 8 speed they are using for the 6.4 is not rated to handle the power/torque of the diesel so they are still looking for a suitable replacement?

The dial shifter was a little surprising. But everything else sounds good. Stronger frame and better brakes is a nice addition that I wasn’t completely expecting. The 6.4 is going to be a much better beast with the 8HP. A power bump would have been sweet but wasn’t expecting it really. The trans alone is basically giving it a power bump lol.

Says they made some “updates” to the 6 speeds in the diesels. I wonder if this means anything beyond new programming.

There r some actual physical changes with the valve body but beyond that I'm not sure yet.

Every Diesel gets an Aisin, not just the 3500?? Or no??

Standard Cummins gets 68RFE, high output Cummins gets Aisin. The HO is 3500 only.

The single biggest shortcoming to the 6.4 2500 was the 66RFE gearing. I'm not going to buy the new model but to say I'm a little jelly is an understatement.
