I don't care what they use to shift gears, just glad the finally put the damn trans in an HD truck. With 4.10 gears it really should be a beast compared to anything we're used to now.

I'm so glad I'll be in the market for a new truck in the 5 months when I return from overseas. I'll admit I'm a little nervous about the first year but I need a new truck and the 8 spd sealed the deal for me. I was going to look at the Ford and GM but not now.

I bought a 2014 6.4 Hemi and had some fears but it turned out fine. More importantly, I haven't heard of any widespread problems with new Ram truck models for the last few generations. I'd have no problem buying a 2019. Depending on how things go, I just might :)

I'm going to the Houston auto show this weekend, if they have a PW or HD I'll be glad to take a pic of anything special on the trucks if anyone wants, maybe something not shown clearly on the reviews etc.

The top of the hood please. I’m curious about the 3 indents on each side.
Are the hoods the same as the gen 4?

I love my truck!

I'd sure would like to see a Quad Cab (or similar)Long Bed in the HD trucks.

Doubtful. It would mean another wheelbase(unless they did something weird with a longer bed). The only reason the mega cab hangs around is it’s the same wheelbase as the Crew Can Long Bed.

You guys talking about an extended cab type version, like the half tons can get (full rear doors, but smaller)? I wouldnt hold your breath. Not sure why though, gm and ford still do it in their hd’s.

Ram has 7 cab/bed truck configurations between the half ton and hd’s.... whats one more? (A few billion dollars in tools probably lol).

If my wife and kids didn’t go with me me I’d have a 2500 reg cab long bed. Turn it into a power wagonish type beast and have even more fun

Yea thats another dumb move on their part... no regular cab long bed power wagon. Wtf. I just dont understand. I mean they already make that configuration truck, how hard could it be to add the power wagon goodies.

Your talking about the cab that has 4 doors but the back doors are a bit smaller?

Because they obviously make the full 4 doors (crew cab) with a long bed.

6.4/8SPD combo is awesome news. My next truck will be an HD Ram, around 2023 or so. We'll see where I am at at that point, pretty much set on a cummins however if the new 6.4 proves worthy then that may be what i grab. I love the ZF 8SPD in my 1500, I'm sure it'll add a whole lot of wake up to the current 6.4. I am extremely curious as to what the 8SPD will do to the 6.4 as far as MPG is concerned.
