Nice, you'll have fun with this. As others have said the Ford 8.8 swap is great for when you
will break your D35. Wheel the hell out of it, beat it like it owes you money (which it will...) Now is not a bad time start thinking about some one ton axles. When you get into rock crawling, it won't take long before you want the hardest line on the hardest trail....you've got a good platform now to see what works....but you're already talking about linking the rear

I give you 2 years before you decide to back half the thing and run 40's. A one ton build is not difficult or costly with the right research, it will take some time but the results are worth it.
