Im helping my buddy install a new JVC into his ram. I am going to bypass parking brake so he can run android auto. Is the parking brake bypass the same as Kenwood, where you just ground out the parking brake? Or do i need one of those cheap 15$ bypass on amazon?

I just hooked the wire that senses the parking brake to something that supplies a constant power, such as a cigarette lighter. That's how my Android based head unit was.

I know kenwood is different than the rest of the headunits, such as sony, pinoeer ext. but JVC owns Kenwood, so im assuming they are bypasses by grounding out.

I agree with you pct. I have no real experience to back it but it is very likely the same as the kenwood.

Can't go wrong with the micro bypass. I've never had one fail to work for bypassing the ebrake nonsense on the newer stuff where the manufacturers have gotten crafty with specific ebrake procedures in an attempt to defeat bypasses.

The Microbypasses dont work with Kenwood, or atleast the new ones...

Can't Kenwoods be put into "Store Demo" mode fairly easily anyways ? In all honesty its been a while since I had to fool with it. I just remember Pioneer being the worst about it.
