We are at a campground in San Antonio. About two weeks ago, our fobs - both - stopped working. I used the key to open the door which set off the alarm and neither fob would stop it - finally got it shut off by holding the key close to the ignition and starting it, but that took quite some time.

We replaced batteries in both fobs. Since then, they only work occasionally and that after many presses. We found a work-around in only using the handle-sensor unlock to access and lock the truck. Thought it was just us until..

Last night we heard someone else’s alarm going off... noticed it was another Ram. Went to help and he was having the exact same issue - his fob was only a year old, his truck an ‘18. Alarm went off until my husband was able to get his truck started too. Replaced battery - and doing similar to ours. A Ram on the other side of him says he’s had ‘fob issues’ too. 0D21765C-84C7-4A17-8A45-20AFE926D6F6.jpeg

Any ideas?? Did Ram recently push an update? Could something in the area be interfering?

Thanks

I would look for something in the area. I have multiple rams (4) and have fobs together all the time. Typically carry two, one for one truck one for another. Never had an issue.

In addition the only fob problem I have had in any ram, was when I stopped in an area with a significant amounts of overhead high power lines. Fob just would not work.

Started truck by holding fob on push start button drove out of the area. Never another problem.

My experience, yours will be different

LEDs will cause the fobs to act wacky .... a lot of streets are now getting upgraded street lights with LEDs in our area and it's causing all sorts of issues complete bs ...

Have been trying out different light sources, so that they have sufficient light for people to see. yet not bright enough to light up the sky above a certain point, because that blinds the Telescopes, like Palomar Mtn. & about 8 other Observatories in our corner of the world
