I was looking to buy the kicker kit for my 2016 1500 crew. Non alpine. I originally was going to go with this

https://www.amazon.com/Kicker-Dodge...C9HQKSP5P7K&psc=1&refRID=PZ59MS5VBC9HQKSP5P7K

But now showing unavailable. This was the CS? Kit.

https://www.amazon.com/Kicker-Dodge...C9HQKSP5P7K&psc=1&refRID=PZ59MS5VBC9HQKSP5P7K

Only thing now I can find and it’s KS is this set. Does anyone know if this is an newer or upgraded version? Seems more money than the CS set. I was looking to try to keep it under $200 and if I remember when they were available, the CS kit was around $180.

Any help would be appreciated.

The second set is two pairs of 6x9s and the KS35's.

Email the vendor, the 46CSC69's are out....so they should be able to make those bundles for you.

So is the ks an upgrade from the cs since it doesn’t seem like the cs kit can be purchased anymore?

The KS is an upgrade, but off radio power, stick with CSC kit.

I want to go with the cs kit but it’s out of stock everywhere. That’s why I was thinking it was discontinued. Also do I need those metra adapter things for the dash speakers too or just the door speakers? One more question... should I go with a bass and midrange door speaker or a three way. I’m getting conflicting reports that the 3-way coax speakers in the doors don’t utilize all three of the speakers (woofer, mid and tweeter)

Thanks

Id ask an online vendor, the brand new 46CSC are in stock and available.
The 3.5's will fit, no adapter.
and if you do a coax in the door, no need for a 3 way, IMHO

If I need to put the inline 10w 4ohm resistor in the fronts, should I use the metra adapter and attach the resistor to those? Will they plug into a connector in the dash that the stock speakers are connected to?

If you change the door speakers, they will be 4 ohm as well, and dash. I did mine off a small DSP amp $199, and it pads down the front dash speakers, plus adds DSP and time alignment.
But if you run off another amp, you can do resistor, or biamp front doors and dash, and adjust.

What if I’m just using the factory 8.4 and no amp?

Then you'd need a resistor, or an 8 ohm speaker if you retain factory wiring. To some, the change to 4 ohm in dash makes them bright. Some like it, because they can finally hear them. :)

So even with replacing the door speakers that are the kicker 43cs series, and the kicker 3.5 dash 43cs series I still will need to do the resistor? Does it matter the replacement door speakers are also 4ohms? Is it only the dash speakers that are 8ohms? If I have to do a resistor for the dash speakers then I would need the wiring harness adapter to solder in the resistor. What metra part is the dash harness? Thanks. I’m totally confused now.

If you buy the 4 ohm door and dash, and retain factory wiring the dash will be brighter. Due to factory 8 ohm, now they'd be 4 ohm.
Crutchfield makes an adapter for the factory to aftermarket speaker, but does not have the resistor.

My order from crutchfield. U only need the 4 ohm resistors for the dash speakers. Yes solder and heat shrink them into the 71-039 adapter, the other adapter is for doors. Make sure you get an audio quality 10 or 12 watt resistor for it

Not sure why 2nd pic double posted, please ignore that

I had to get the 72-7902. Crutchfield said the 71-039c are no longer avail and replaced with the 7902. I ordered them from another place that had free shipping. The pair was $7.45 with free shipping from thewirezone.com

I’m getting the resistors from Amazon. Hope all this works

Im still rockin a Denon AVR 3806 in the house, things a beast, and put in episode in wall speakers, gave my paradigm set to my son in college☹.
