Weird.

Just talked to my local dealer and they said they can take me in an hour to flash it. Should take about 30 minutes.

Will verify that its actually the cruise control update before I have them do it, of course.

Yay, another ridiculous reason to go to a dealership, I’m affected.

At least it is just a software update (for now) so there is no reason for them to dig into anything and do more harm than good.

I see I am showing an FCA Campaign #U05 but it mentions something about AutoPark Functionality (like the screen grab above) which doesn't seem to have anything to do with the cruise control to me.

Mine shows the same thing. I'm here at the dealership waiting for the update...I checked for updates a few days ago and there were none. Now today after the cruise announcement I have one listed, I'm thinking it's all the same update at least in my case.

If not at least I'll have auto park added? I know my truck doesn't act like some... I can open the door, no seatbelt with truck moving and it won't auto park. That's a feature I would actually want since potentially other people will drive my truck and not be used to the dial shifter.

Fiat Chrysler recalls 4.8 million vehicles; cruise control may not turn off

https://www.wxyz.com/news/fiat-chrysler-recalls-48-million-vehicles-cruise-control-may-not-turn-off

DETROIT (AP) - Fiat Chrysler is recalling 4.8 million vehicles in the U.S. because in rare circumstances, drivers may not be able to turn off the cruise control.

The company is warning owners not to use cruise control until the cars, SUVs and trucks can be fixed with a software update.

The recall includes 15 Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler and Ram models from six model years. Models in other countries also are affected.

Fiat Chrysler says the condition can occur if the cruise control accelerates at the same time an electrical short-circuit happens. But the brakes are designed to overpower the engine and the vehicles could still be stopped. Shifting into park would cancel the cruise.

The problem was found in testing. FCA says it has no reports of crashes or injuries.

The cars include:

2015-17 Chrysler 200 sedan
2014-18 Chrysler 300 sedan
2017-18 Chrysler Pacifica minivan
2015-18 Dodge Challenger coupe
2014-18 Dodge Charger sedan
2014-18 Dodge Journey CUV
2014-18 Dodge Durango SUV
2014-18 Jeep Cherokee SUV
2014-18 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV
2018 Jeep Wrangler
2014-19 Ram 1500 pickup
2014-18 Ram 2500 pickup
2014-18 Ram 3500 pickup
2014-18 Ram 3500 cab chassis
2014-18 Ram 4500/5500 cab chassis

Let us know what you find out. I don't really want Autopark so if that is all it is I will pass.

U05 is the correct update.

Trucks with the smaller uconnect setup will take 20-30 minutes to update.

Trucks with the 8.4 uconnect will take 3 hours, for whatever reason.

I didn't have time to wait 3 hours so im going back next Tuesday. Hopefully what is added is clearer by then and I'll get more information.

I’m at dealer now for state inspection. I have a 2017 Sport with 8.4Nav. Was told 30 minute update so I’m waiting.

Yeah I just ran my VIN as well and have no recalls or campaigns either. Might check back in a couple days to be sure
