Nah, its basically all of them in those build date ranges. Check your build date on the sticker in your front drivers door jam.

Small chance you are right on the edge, then there is something in the build tag (where it lists option codes) that represents your exact time and date of build, Im not sure where to find that though.

Im curious if it will be a software update or involve parts too....if it involves actual parts, I can only imagine the backlog!

So far it appears to be software. There is a fix for the '14 - '18 Journey out already in recall U49, but no others have been made available to this point.

The U49 for the journey is just a PCM software update, I did a couple of them today. So I’m fairly certain other vehicles will be the same as well.

Is there any update for the transmission? It seems to be indecisive at times. I asked on another forum but never got an answer.

Last update was released in July of 2017.

At dealer now, service rep said no recall is in place. I think the staff must be uninformed.

I hope you didn’t make a trip just for that? The staff is correct though, the recall hasn’t even received a designation yet and doesn’t show up in the dealer systems until it does. The recall has only been announced, this has been repeated probably a dozen times by now in this thread.

I don’t see how they would have done anything with the steering if you’re just they’re for an A/C issue.

Did they have to remove the connector to the electric steering?

I remember seeing a very specific note about what NOT to do if that is disconnected.....maybe they didnt follow the note?

Narrowed it down to loose camber bolts. Firestone is covering the cost.

I was afraid that it was steering position sensor.

Thanks for the heads up. It said a short circuit could cause this, so where & how does this misterious short occur and why don't they fix that? I don't see how a software mod can prevent a short.

The software mod won't prevent the short circuit, but it WILL modify how the system works so that it automatically cancels any call for torque from cruise control.

It sounds like right now if cruise is set and the short circuit occurs, the PCM sticks with the cruise speed setting with no way to turn it off.
