Leaking Window

So I took my truck to an automatic car wash yesterday, I know I know but I didn't feel like sweating my balls off washing it and it was really dirty. First off, the damn thing is too wide. The spinning brush thingies pushed my mirrors back out, I had to fold them in before I went into it, and I had to get out of the car wash early before the frame thingy ripped my mirrors off. So that pissed me off, then my nephew who was in the back seat started screaming "The truck is leaking, the truck is leaking!!!!", so I pull over and lo and behold the frigging back window is leaking in the top driver's side corner. It only has 2500 miles on it so I know that the warranty will cover it but it still sucks. Anyway,I just wanted to vent.

are you sure it is the rear window. Could it be the 3rd brake light?

regardless it sucks on a new truck that it is leaking.

There is an open RRT on the 3rd. They smear silicone around it. Lame........

Mine leaked once, I pulled the 3rd and put some butyl around the seal and put it back on. Yeah, butyl is messy, but only when you take off the 3rd.......not like the silicone they smear on the outer part - where you can see the nasty mess.

OK, I didn't even think of the brake light. I was just guessing it was the window. I need to check that out.

They're supposed to check things like that before the trucks leave the factory. Hopefully they can get It fixed quickly for ya

I know your pain man, when i bought my truck the dealership that had taken it as a trade-in had replaced the windshield as a courtesy due to all the highway miles and small rock chips but apparently they didn't seal it up all the way correctly.
when it rained i would have water run down from my lower bolt cover in the front passenger side grab handle. took me forever to figure it out.

i thought it was the 3rd brake light like everyone had said it was but it wasn't. i finally took the headliner down and had my wife put the hose in certain places for a minute to see where it was coming from. it pinpointed it the the upper left side molding piece where the clip mounts to the cab. they didn't get enough sealant behind it and it was leaking into the cab frame support. i filled it with silicone and haven't had an issue since.


on another note about car washes, i used to take my old lifted 06 thru our car wash all the time because it was easy and cheap, and it barely fit, the tires rubbed both sides of the track and it was as tall as would fit. we took our new jeep thru there this winter and it got scratched all to hell so we called and complained, manager said you cant prove it was us (had 100 miles on it and that was the only was it had) so i said screw you and ill tell everyone not to use your wash again. now there running deals all the time and i never see people over there, i think others have had the same issue.

Sounds like you had a leak in the front window. The op is leaking from the rear.

Yea I won't take my laramie through one again, the top pressure washers broke the seal around the sunroof and I had to pay $250 at the dealer to get them to replace a 1/8 inch rubber seal! It was in and out in 1hr.... Not hand washing for now on lol

Its ********... I found out when I rained mine leaked. The dealership more less said tough **** fix it yourself or pay the parts department an arm and leg to fix it.....

If you must use an automatic carwash, suck it up and go to one of the expensive No-touch variety. The cheapie at the gas station will wreak your vehicle.

unfortunately your truck isn't under warranty. however if it is your 3rd brake light you can easily try to fix it yourself with some silicon.
