I recently purchased a 2014 Dodge Ram, this is my first Dodge so looking for some advice on the signal lights. The other day while I was driving and turning the lights started flashing fast and a message came up on the console saying front signal light out. I am familiar with the fast flash with previous vehicles so I thought it would just be an easy replacement of a bulb. I pulled the headlight unit out and noticed it was all a complete unit and it looks like the LED's are built in. Can these be replaced? Do I have to purchase the complete headlight assembly to get the LED's working? It looks as though only a few of the LED's are not working in the marker light strip along the bottom and half of them are on. The front signal lights from the outside flash the correct speed it is only the mirror light that flashes fast. Also note that when I pulled the headlight unit out a little bit of water came out of inside of it so I am thinking something shorted out inside. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ya - I'm betting once you replace it, it'll fix the hyper flash issue. If you're out of warranty - look up TYC projectors. They're aftermarket, but identical to OEM projectors and half the price. I ran a set of them on my previous truck and they were just fine.

The dealer would say they aren't serviceable and I'm not sure where you'd get the parts to replace the LEDs but I suspect it can be done.

You'd have to split the headlight capsule (lens from body) then access the backside of the LEDs to remove them. I am not sure whether it is a strip of LED's on a circuit board or if they are individual units.

Most would say replace the entire capsule but there may be a shop in your area that can fix it.

Or contact Retroshop and talk to JJ. I'm sure he knows exactly how these are wired and what it takes to repair them.

I have the same problem with a set of retrofit headlights that Jeremy did for me. The turn signal in the mirror hyper-flashes, the turn signal in the headlight flashes normally and I get the error in the dash on startup that the turn signal is out. I was told that the truck's electronics can be finicky and didn't like the switchback modules that were used in the retrofit. I've just been living with it for over a year now. Sucks because I paid a lot of money to have the headlights retrofit and ended up with a problem. Diode Dynamics is the manufacturer of the switchback turn signals Jeremy used in my install and they told me that I was on my own in trying to fix the problem. They said there were too many electronic variables from truck to truck and they have a disclaimer that says it's not their problem when this happens. My turn signals did not produce this error for the first couple of months I had them installed. Good luck!
