Let's talk batteries

So i'm making preparations to do my dual battery setup and I was looking into batteries. I have my tray painted and installed and I plan on improving the grounds and making everything 1 AWG. The main use for my second battery will be for powering accessories, for a rescue battery, and may include an audio upgrade. I will be using the Painless Performance Dual Battery set up and also plan on upgrading the alternator to a 200 AMP.

What's the better battery these days? OPTIMA's have gone down the toilet and there are many different options from marine batteries to the Kinetic and to XS I think it's called. What are you guys using or what do you recommend for a good second battery?

Optima's used to be good before they became big box store batteries.

Odyssey IMO makes the one to have now. Sears Platinum is made by them as well I believe.

I have heard a few folks recommend Odyssey batteries. They are near the top of my list. In this case the way the battery looks plays a small part too so I would stick with the Odyssey over the Sears Platinum even though it's technically the same battery.

interstate? Believe it or not Wally World carries a battery called MAX something or other. 3year free replacement with a ton of cca's.

XS Power D4800....the best on the market right now.
Stay away from Optima and Kinetic. Optima sucks and has for the last several years and Kinetic is an accessory only battery...you use it as a starting battery and it'll swell up on you.
