Many. Do a search.

Avoid starting and shutting it off before it has fully warmed up.

Consider switching what you are using for oil.

Take a look at the "Synthetic Oil" thread and other threads on cam and lifter failures for what you may want to use for your next oil change.

if you're concerned about your warranty, i'd take it into the dealer first (unless you plan to change the oil to something else as a test then put regular oil back into it before a dealer visit over the issue).

also, are you sure it's lifter noise? sometimes people confuse lifter noise with other sounds.

Hi MD2018,

I certainly understand why this would be concerning. If you decide to have this looked into by your local Ram dealer, feel free to send us a private message. We would be happy to escalate a case on your behalf so one of our Case Specialists could work alongside your dealer to find a potential solution.

Start up chatter is Very common; best thing would be to upload a video so we can hear it. Could be something else.

I am going to pick my truck up from the shop today. I had a ticking sound on cold start up that was a broken exhaust manifold bolt. They had to replace the head.

This ^^^ "Avoid starting and shutting it off before it has fully warmed up." I recently switched to QSUD 5W20. I also added LiquiMoly. That has largely gotten rid of the start up noice and ticking. However, I still notice significant chatter (only for a second or two) upon start up if the last startup was brief without allowing for warm up. For instance, if I pull it into my garage right before bed at night and quickly shut it off, the next morning it will still be loud for a moment.
