do you guys recommend vanquish or diode dynamics? Are they going to be similar? Also has anyone tried the reverse lights from diode? Is it much brighter? I will be changing fogs, low beams, and high beams. Was also thinking about the h9 to h11 conversion. How would this stack up against the led? Thanks guys and I have the non projector lights.

LED's so far are coming along well, but in terms of throw, dark spots, and width they are some what lacking. HID does not add much to that as most of the light on HID ends up in Glare and annoyance to the rest of the world, please dont be that guy.

The housing is designed with a halogen bulbs lighting properties in mind. They spends thousands of hours and simulations just making a reflector bowl.

All that aside I went with a LED bulb for my low beams and Im pretty happy with them overall. I have a 2014 Bighorn so same housing and they are the new fancy multicolor LEDs. The white light throws low and can be adjusted very well, you flip the headlight on and off and they go to 3000k amber and they aim a bit higher like a highbeam so with a high beam they are absurd. When they are amber I can see every reflector, sign, and obstacle for a solid mile as it glows bright yellow instead of white. Flip the switch again and they are back to white.

These are all opinions based on my own research and fitting bulbs. At the end of the day Im doing a DS2 retrofit at the end of the month. I like the LED for the nifty color change but you will never get the light pattern of a proper xenon projector.

If you are curious to the bulbs Im using

As well my truck did not need any type of resistor or canceler for some reason.

I would recommend going with vanquish auto..... I have purchased 3 sets from them in combination of HID and LED and I must say these are very well built and best of all they don’t give me the bulb out message on the dash.

If you have the typical style halogen style headlights go with some Vanquish LEDs the will be way brighter the oem style and you’ll love the color difference.

They also have LEDs available for the other parts of your trucks

For your low beams

Ok I like the look of the vanquish auto stuff. Would the hid system be brighter than the led lights? $150 for the hid system is pretty damn good . Do they make a fog light that matches the color of the hid? Has anyone used diode dynamics? They seem to be pretty well priced also. Who knows anything about Alla lighting on amazon? They seem pretty cheap and look decent but I have never heard anything about them. I’m thinking going the hid system from vanquish for low beams and the headlight revolution hid system for the fogs. Any thoughts ? I am also looking for a brighter reverse light in the factory location. Headlight revolution has a nice one so does diode dynamics. Anyone use these with any results?

I have both LEDs and hid....... for my projectors I have HIDs from vanquish and for my fogs I have LED. They are both way brighter then oem. I would recommend the LEDs since you have the typical housing. You would want HIDs if you had the projector style type housings. Get LEDs for your fogs as well overall you will be shocked how much brighter they are. But if you do decide Another route keep in mind 6K color is 6K color. Mine match up very well both HID and LED in 6K. To me the LED was easier to hook up and LED is suppose to last longer as well and give off less heat. With the HID kit, I had to make modifications to the dust cover to make it all work. This was all on my Yukon but it should be the same concept for our Rams.

Both are great quality and reasonably priced kits. The only thing you shoukd order feom the retrofit source is the projector adaptors that allow you to run projectors in a non projector truck.
