The LEDs in my cluster (2012 Ram 1500 Laramie CC) have been flickering and fading over the last year and this morning the LED responsible for lighting about 1/3 (2500 to 5500 RPM) of the tachometer gauge actually went out. Did some research and have come to the summation that these clusters are completely sealed so there's no way to access the bulbs and just swap out the one that's now dead so I've concluded I will have to replace the entire cluster assembly. (Which wouldn't be a total downer as I've had a dead green gnat type bug inside my cluster for over a year that is driving my OCD butt completely insane. Although this would be a record breaker for one of the most expensive bug removal techniques. lol)
  • How difficult is it to replace or should I leave this to professionals?
  • How much would a job like this cost?
  • I've looked my truck up and it seems the part number I would need is #68057649AA. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
  • There is one listed on eBay but it's used with mileage - I'm usually all about saving money when and where I can, but is this something better to buy new? How in the world would I get the odometer (on a new or used cluster set to match my truck's current and actual mileage?
  • Or is it possible to just replace the burned bulb and I missed the info somewhere?

Picture attached for reference. This is not my current mileage.. just a photo-op for obvious reasons. :)IMG_20170707_161940449_zpsjwxa20q6.jpg

They SMD LED'S. 2 drivers. Not to bad to replace. Observe led polarity. Use 20watt soldering iron. Replace all at same time. Seal is not hard to get loose. I used thum gum to reseal. Dont do it in a dusty environment.
