Could be a problem with the electrical, battery or charging system. The light also flashes when the truck goes into limp mode.

If the code reader isn't working then its not able to communicate with the PCM. First I'd check to see if there is power at the diagnostic port or the code reader wont work at all. Secondly if its a communication problem code readers don't do any good at diagnosing and wont pull codes, an actual scan tool would be needed to get further into it.

My truck runs fine for a min then it almost sounds like a switch and starts to loap, dont have any throttle response. It idles up a little and the red lighting bolt is on. I have cleaned and checked all connection nothing chainged. Should I try a new throttle body?

If the code reader isn't working I would take a look at the circuit board in the fuse box (IPM). A couple members recently had starting/scanning issues and found the boards corroded.

Scan tool is the same thing as code reader. Just gives more data. The lightning bolt has nothing to do with the charging system. It indicates that there is a problem with the electronic throttle control. Could be throttle body, accelerator pedal position sensor or the wiring and connectors in between.
